More required materials since last patch, price dropped. rather counter intuitive. Whats happening? people are producing way to many i would assume?

The price of the raw materials has dropped, probably high supply. And the t3 destroyers got a bit of a nerf recently, so less demand.

Since the material changes were given well in advance, they were overproduced before the patch, and will be selling well below the new manufacturing cost for some time to come to lock out people out of the market. :-)

Then factor in clueless speculators who don't know what supply/demand is, who bought out everything at the break of the news and have capital locked in dead-weight assets - looking to sell.

Classic tiericide scenario.
