In order to bolster cultural, artistic, industrial and scientific exchange, a new initiative is taken, calling to all capsuleers and other prospects across New Eden to bring together personal or corporate projects, artworks, cultural goods, researches, and many more, in an universal exhibition that is to be held in various places in the cluster. Those exhibitions are eulogies to progress, innovation, culture, art and science, and can also be anchored as solutions in the various current issues that sprawl all over New Eden.

Caille's Universal Exhibition - Art and Culture - 26th and 27th, September YC117

Access channel: Chasm City of Chantide

The premiere of the New Eden's Fair is to happen in the gallente city of Caille, Luminaire VI. The main theme of the fair will be everything related to Art and Culture. Capsuleers from across New Eden will gather here to show, share, discuss their various contributions to New Eden's culture and/or art. This is the place for exhibitors for example to bring native goods of their homeland, pieces of their art, to show off culture projects, or present anything they think holds an inherent value to be showcased here at this exhibition.

Visitors are naturally greatly welcomed for the whole duration of the event, that should last for a couple of days: anytime during the event everyone should be able to witness and visit. A few sessions for presentations will however be planned so that every exhibitor gets a chance to speak extensively about their work, and present it to the public, in a similar fashion to what is usually done at SeyCon.

Exhibitors will have to register their names, either individual, corporate, or any group bearing a title. Each of them will be allocated the place they need for them to properly exhibit their works, and every submission will of course be subject to scrutiny to be sure that they remain in the frame of the event. Capsuleers who are interested in taking part as exhibitors are asked to notify 'Lyn Farel' simply by mail, or by answering here.

The NEF holds big hopes in what could be achieved through that event, and wishes that it could be replicated after into other themes and venues if it proves to be successful. We look to seeing many of you showing up, either as exhibitors or simple visitors.

***

A few points of detail :

  • To the exhibitors : Your own imagination and the theme are the limits. Since you are expected to present, showcase and talk about your exhibition at the presentation sessions to the public, it is advised to go for a thematic exhibition that features a coherent work aimed at something (a message? an idea? values? your call). Make something meaningful out of it, and that way we can turn that fair into something truly meaningful and more than a simple place of exchange.

  • To keep the maximum of interest for everyone, it might be better if you keep the actual content of your exhibition to yourself: event organizers should be the only ones to get to know about it for obvious reasons. Of course, that is far from being obligatory!

  • The exhibition takes place in Caille: for that precise reason, some capsuleers may be barred from access to Federal territory (especially planetside), or CONCORD high security mandate. The venue is not up to discussion. If your security status or engagement in the proxy war, or other various reason, prevents you to get by federal and concord jurisdiction, then it is on you to comply to local laws. This is non negociable. If you feel neglected by that specific point, please keep in mind that this exhibition is not the last one - we hope - to be organized, and so plenty of other occasions should present themselves to you in the future. You can also resort to proxies or couriers that have no issue with the local laws.

  • The event will take place the 26th and 27th of September. The event formal opening will happen the 26th in the evening, and the Fair should last all Sunday long. Presentations of all exhibitions by their sponsors will probably happen the 27th, starting at 19:00 and up to 22:00, as a closing ceremony. Please note though that this is subject to change as we do not have a full list of sponsors yet.

Is there any reason an Exhibitor couldn't make use of shipping contracts and employees to exhibit for them even if they are personally barred?

I would be delighted to attend. I've always had a bit of a enjoyment for art and cultures.

That sounds like a sensible possibility, yes.

Very interesting, but it's in fed space again which is sad to say the least. Why no one makes such fairs/conferences on neutral ground like CONCORD or InterBus space I wonder.

If demand for repatriation shuttle service between Caldari Prime and Gallente Prime has sufficiently diminished by the time of this event, Nox Draconum will provide 2-way shuttle service for those wishing to attend.

That is why the Pakshi Peace Conference is located in the Pakshi System. It is within CONCORD space.

I know, right? I often pay visits to Gallente High security space, but I seldom stay for very long.

Yulai is being considered for later similar expositions, if it fits the theme, and of course if I can find the right partners for it to happen in that place or another.

Please forgive me to be blunt, sir, but the spirit behind that fair is to provide insightful content in a frame that fits, with hosts put to the honours, among others (here, Caille and the Federation) . The fact that some people choose to affiliate themselves in the proxy war or choose to have issues with interstellar law, is of their own volition alone. In short, people make choices and have to deal with their consequences. We are ready to accommodate the most, but barring most of the cluster locations and venues is not a sacrifice we deem acceptable for that purpose.

As it was probably not clear enough, I added a clarification in the points of detail, which is meant to hint at what exactly would be expected :

It'll certainly be no sacrifice to avoid attending this event, if her attitude is any guide. I dread to think what cultural or artistic contribution Ms Farel will be making!

A bit of news : considering that it probably asks for time simply to gather, find ideas, or just to notice that one might actually have something to bring to the table, and then that it might probably take a similar amount of time - if not more - to actually produce something valuable, added to the fact that I have yet to receive more signups, I am willing to postpone the event to July or August.

Please, feel free to give your feedback or remarks, or tell what would be best suited for you...

Thank you.
