Killmails and wrecks

Here is the situation. My corp jumped a Thanatos and 2 Tengus in a Class 5 WH anom (Core Stronghold) and killed them and their pods in a bubble. We did not get any killmails, except for the pods, and there were no wrecks. Not sure if they ejected but I have ejected before from a ship and still received a loss mail. Also wouldn't the wrecks still appear? They did not self destruct as they did not have time.

We left a few sleepers on the field but there is no way they got all 3 kills and even if they did, I believe from previous experience there would still be killmails and I know for a fact, wrecks. We all filed petitions but no answers yet. Can anyone enlighten me as to what happened? Thanks.

I only read about this so take with a grain of salt.

"Mechanics" @V skill gives 25% to structure hit points. So at a certain point the ship is only hanging on because of this skill being applied. Ejecting from the ship removes the effect and the ship vanishes without wreck and kill mail.

We tested this theory and it is only partially correct: the KM does not appear, but a wreck is still produced.

Did they have something else on the field that could have stole your kills and shot their wrecks? I've never heard of this before, very interesting.
