You mean a german retailer would buy from CCP in dollars ...
... because that comes him cheaper than buying in EUR ?

That just makes it sound even more like they're not buying directly from CCP, but rather trying to do some mild arbitrage between different outlets trying to get the best day price.

If i had to guess, the retailer was looking to increase his short term profit margin for liquidity reasons.

Why it sounds like it or why it could be a problem?

In the first case, because there's little else that would create those kinds of daily fluctuations.
In the second case, because I'm fairly certain that reselling retailed PLEX is strictly out of bounds.

Why is that out of bounds ? Can't he buy his PLEX anywhere ?

WholeSeller buys 10k PLEX from CCP for asscheap ...
... and resells it to little resellers like the shop I'm using.

No. There are three sources for PLEX: CCP, TripleACodes, and Xcel. They trade in bulk, business to business, and the chances that their prices will change from day to day are nil. Retailers are not allowed to re-sell PLEX among themselves as far as I can recall — they can only trade with end users and in fairly limited volumes.

... and thus adjust the price daily. It'd be nuts. Unnecessary work. Every day.

Last year, two PLEX cost me 26 EUR.
Now, two PLEX cost me 30.16 EUR.

Except one time I didn't see it until it had 29 ...
... and then gradually went up to over 30.

The one time was shortly after GTCs got removed from the shop system ...
... and PLEX introduced instead. From then on the price went up.


Why is this happening ?
And if no answer is available ... what could be reasons why it's happening ?

I'm going with multiple simultaneous development projects coupled with a possible slight downward trend in number of subscribed players (which is speculative and based on the slight downward trend in PCU numbers).

If that retailer is a front of ccp, undercutting their own single plex sales to corner the market, then yes.
