When we are in combat alone or as a team, and are able to destroy an enemy ship.
Then normally 1 of 3 scenarios occurs regarding time since the first damage occured.

1, You spend a long time to kill enemy ship.
2, You kill the enemy in a relatively short time.
3, The enemy is vaporised within "seconds".

Now regardless of how much time we spend on taking down the enemy ship, it always ands with a big explosion. BOOM!!
And most of us loves things that explode. The bigger explosion, the better. But why not make it a challenge to obtain that big explosion?

For example:
1, You spend a long time to kill enemy ship - RESULT = Ship burns out quickly. No explosion but leaves a wreck.
2, You kill the enemy in a relatively short time - RESULT = Ship has some small visible explosions, leaves a wreck.
3, The enemy is vaporised within seconds - RESULT = Ship gives a huge explosion, leaves a wreck.

So the idea is not to alter the mechanism of the game. But to add another challenge to the game through the visual effects.
Imagine you fly into a trap. You know you will most likely loose you ship. But if you do your best. You might take away the pleasure from the opposing gang, by preventing your ship ending its journey in a huge explosion.
Or imagine trying to take down a capital ship fast enough, in order to get that big explosion?

Im not going to bother on how the details could or should be worked out.
Because if devs are interested, they probably have a better idea on the variables and details.

You know. CCP ALWAYS make explosions look soo good, on the videos that they release. Implement that into the game?

Rgds,

If my pilot is certain to face death... I want full ramming speed towards the enemy ship...

Interesting idea brah, but the reason we get the nice, big, consistent kablooey is because of the warp core going up. If I remember the lore correctly, anyways. That mother looses power, and BAM, nothing but radioactive slag and fireworks.

Sorry.

Sauce.

I find myself wondering where is the "bonus challenge" you speak about once the ship has been destroyed?

I LIKE...

Doomsday ALL THE THINGS pandemic... Nothing quite like seeing a titan's fusion core going up when it gets hit with a dozen doomsdays:)

The bonus is getting a big explosion.

So according to you, the fun in EVE is eeing explosion and you are trying to get a proposal across to prevent said explosion.

You want to push for an anti-fun mechanic...

This is according to your own words of course.

Well its not always that easy to explain oneself in the first attempt...

Imagine, that those BIG explosions are like chocolate...
If you are able to get as much chocolate as you want every day. Then there is a good chance that you might not care about chocolate sometime in the near future. Because you simply get it all the time. And there is nothing special about it any longer.
However if you where NOT always capable of obtaining the chocolate, then it would perhaps be much more appreciated those times you actually where able to obtain it. And therefore you would perhaps still be interested in trying to obtaining, it in the future.

So if the BIG explosions became more rare, then they would perhaps become more appreciated.

Does this make more sense?

If my pilot is certain to face death... I want full ramming speed towards the enemy ship...

I think any ship that gets destroyed too quickly should have a chance of not leaving a wreck.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."
