I think we were told about fozzi-sov about 3 months in advance right? 6??... Eve has pretty much been dead these 3 months.

Everywhere i look people are on break from eve "waiting for fozzi-sov to land".

People are playing other games "waiting for fozzi-sov to land"

Personally im not active, cause why would i commit to anything when im "waiting for fozzi-sov to land"

I evac my assets from 0.0. Nothing happens... no gate camps... nothing... why? people are "waiting for fozzi-sov to land".

So... this might sound like a strange proposal, but i think 3 months is too much dead-time. No one wants to commit to anything, when they know the whole universe is going to be turned upside down in the future. Im all for the changes but, i just think its too long to just go about doing nothing.

My proposal, however wierd and strange, is that CCP should not let us know so far in advance what they intent to do. I think maybe a month or 14 days is enough to get settled. The pay-off from knowing what is gonna happen in 3-6 months is simply too high... because eve is so dead these days.

Let me know what you think guys, should CCP shorten the "warning" when they plan something big in the future?
I think its a serious issue, its bad for business. We all want EVE to succeed, but so many people havent got anyhting to do.

If anyone still needs proof that CCP has truly changed their ways, here it is. Denizens of GD, this is the holy grail; the sacred cow; the most exalted thing you will ever see. A thread seriously asking for CCP to keep us LESS INFORMED.

Given that Fozzie-sov is still very much in development in terms of numbers and details, three months is the bare minimum. The alternative would have been that CCP announced their plans two weeks in advance with no room to change anything or to collect feedback on their plans. They would implement a new system that is broken and abused, and everyone would be pissed off.

Instead they have been involving the players almost every step of the way since it was announced and some very important changes were made since the original proposal. Even if that does come at the cost of some downtime across null-sec. Three months is nothing compared to the next 10 years this system should hopefully function.

Also I would like to contest your claim that everyone is sitting on their *ss. A quick look at the Sov map would show you that 'sh*t is in fact very much on fire, yo'. The south is one big battlefield right now and new names are popping up on the map all over the place. If your idea of nullsec right now is 'dead', you're in the wrong place.

It is an idea, so this thread has been moved to Features & Ideas Discussion.

Since your very busy extracting information from simply looking at the changing sov map, thinking that sov-map shows anything about activity in the regions. I have a proposal for you, take a alt account, board a shuttle - autopilot down south and check if your dead in 15 minutes, in the meantime, look at these dot lan figures for ships killed lately...

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Feythabolis#kills
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Immensea#kills
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Tenerifis#kills
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Detorid#kills
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Scalding_Pass#kills

The battlefield is real!

Listen you can disagree with the idea to have a shorter warning before patches, and your point about feedback is totally legit, but dont tell me 0.0 is even remotely active these days. Its just a fact that people are waiting for fozzi-sov. Its been boring for 3 months straight, maybe its worth-while, i dont know.

It's an idea that needs to be taken behind the shed and shot, then disfigured beyond recognition and dumped into a river that flows out to sea.

Actually CFC is playing H1Z1 because Mittens is being paid to get them to play. If not for that I'm sure they would have invaded some region somewhere just for ***** and giggles.

Do you not think that people should be given a useful amount of warning for a change so large to the core mechanics of an entire category of space?

Also, isn't it kind of ironic for former N3 people to be whining about a lack of a war after they rolled over and died thirty seconds after starting one?

How is "people are waiting for Fozzi-sov" different from "people are waiting for something to do"?

welp, might as well give up on communication with player base as now I am seeing complaints that there is such a thing as too soon. The only time an announcement is too soon is if it fails to ever arrive.

sheesh

The CSM fights for faster, sooner, more and then this dipstick checks his oil and finds that it is vinegar.

No. I think I will keep doing what I have been doing and let the ostrich find a nice patch of sand to stick his head into because IF he does not want to know about what is coming he can ignore the forums and announcements and let the surprises just roll on in.

I'd rather have that than be blind-sided by sweeping changes to sov that break the game completely and have to wait a few more years while CCP hems and haws and waits for statistics they'll no doubt misinterpret.
