Less then two days before deadline so...Ugh
How will meta-alliances such as GE+GS, INIT+Init Mercs be treated?
As one structure or as separate alliances?

As with the past, we will allow those Alliances to compete as one group. If this applies to you, please have both executors file a ticket indicating they wish to compete as one group.

Hold on a second. If you are letting meta-alliances compete as one, then you better allow corporations to compete as well.

Besides the fact its called "Alliance Tournament" why is it limited to alliances (or apparently meta-alliances/coalitions) only? We all remember what happened last year when you let an alliance in fact only enter *cough* CODE. *cough*

I hope this year Waffles will be considered as PL's meta-alliance (as it must be) and not as separate entity just because some ex-PL dudes know better.

The ruling says that affiliates can ask to be treated as one, not that they have to. GE and GS are free to run as separate teams if they want, just like Waffles.

Besides, GE/GS or Red/Blue have way more interaction than PL/Waffles anyway.

Mate you area actually wrong.
I'm pretty sure they are made participate as a part of their core alliance or not participate at all. I remember last year debates.

Regarding Waffles, it's not about the level of independence, it's about rule equity for everyone. Otherwise CCP must include additional explanations on which alliances are considered as meta and which are not. With exact and transparent criteria.

Pretty sure RvB asked for purple.

Besides, if your argument is independence then FA, Razor, TNT and the likes would have to compete with Goons and you would have to fly as one big team with the rest of your coalition. Otherwise, what kinds of criteria are you asking for that wouldn't be more arbitrary than that? Waffles share neither standings nor command structure with PL and live on the other side of the map.

Then a line must be added to rules with exact list of requirements, for instance, fully independent team leadership and member roster.
I have no problem with that.
But make equal conditions for everyone.

Because last year it was more like "those teams are allowed and those are not". Why? Because CCP decided so.
