[New structures] Placement, grouping and logistics

Different forum, so missed it.

Hi,

I didn't feel that any of the sticky new structure threads covered ideas how these structures can be placed and if they can be placed near each other, how would that effect the game.

CCP/GM, feel free to hijact this thread.


My thoughts:

Could it be possible that mediums or mediums and large structures could be anchored on the same grid. This way we could build small space cities.

Problem with that is, if they are too near each other, the total amount of protective weapons could it make it impossible to capture. Is this bad or good thing? Should capturing 5 medium structures be over 5 times harder (5 times the turrets) or only take 5 times longer (capturing them one by one).

If that problem is solved some how, could it be possible the share the containers in the structures? It would be nice if I could manage 5 different structures from the one I dock in. Also refueling might be bit easier by transporting the fuel only to one location from where all 5 structures would us it.

Basically they said that they would probably place a 250km minimal distance from any other structure, celestial or warp-in point to avoid that :

1) people make a big clusterfuck of stations that could shoot any intruder very easily
2) people hiding structures inside celestials
3) people using structures to ambush any in-warpers in belts, at pocos, you name it.
