Hi guys,

It's possible the delay you are getting is because the launcher is downloading some resources each time. Here are some tips you can try.

Open up the launcher settings window. In the download tab, tick the download all resource files. Then restart the launcher.

If the issue still persists it could be a folder permission issue within the operating system. If that is the case then try right click on the launcher or the icon you use to start the game and select run as administrator from the drop down list. This should repair any folder permission errors.

Should that still not resolve the issue. Then please navigate to your EVE installation folder and run rescache.exe from there. This program will verify the files in your shared resource cache folder and replace any corrupt files. It will also offer to download any missing files for you. If you download these files then hopefully the delay you are experiencing will be gone.

Did All of these - still greyed out PLAY button.

If the launcher is updating but the play button remains gray after logging in then please try navigating to the EVE installation folder then open the bin folder. There you should find exefile.exe please try right clicking it and selecting run as administrator from the drop down list. This should bypass the launcher and correct any incorrect folder permissions for the client. Once you have started the game this way please try closing the launcher and the client and then try starting the game again.

Cleared cache, Run launcher as Admin, went to folder ran the rescahe.exe. Game just gets the Not Responding when client launches.

Running the exefile.exe ( Running as Administrator) does the same thing the launcher does. It starts to launch the game but doesn't. Look in Task Manager and it says Eve --> Not Responding.

Was working fine until patch today.

I'm having this issue, only since this morning though. Worked before downtime.

I've tried all these things:

I uninstalled Eve and downloaded and reinstalled it.

I uninstalled my virus software, after the issues that have already been talked about in the thread.

I uninstalled Eve and reinstalled it for the second time.

I rebooted and then repaired, all fine but the issue remains the client doesn't start after login.

I downloaded all the resources as suggested, and then ran the resource cache app: all files verified, 0 corrupt and 0 not yet downloaded.

*************************The issue is that Eve won't launch after I log in via the launcher.*****************************

Nothing is working for me!

Exact same issue for me. Last night it worked fine. This morning, I authenticate and the launcher changes to "launching" for 6-8 seconds and then nothing. The "play" button cycles back and appears again.

recache.exe was the solution that worked for me - it took a while, but 123 files totalling about 72mb were missing and needed to be redowloaded. The launcher didnt identify these missing files.

DAY TWO

The PLAY button is NOT greyed it does the launching roll over and the application exefile.exe is executed. In the resource monitor this file is described as CCP ExeFile, and further its Status indicates that it is 'not responding'.

Shocked rescache.exe helped me too, 8 broken files and 2 hours of rebooting, uninstalling, changing network config, etc.

Same issue here. Play button greyed out and can only play via exefile. I have completely reinstalled the game and tried all of the above.

Ok, I am on intermittently. Here is how I have been successfully logging on: I pull up the launcher and then let it sit and ****ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING WHAT SO EVER AT ALL****. The do not touch anything at all bit is extremely important. If some other program gets touched or there is seemingly any activity, then it's a greyed out play button. I have to wait about 10 minutes or so, then I type the password and log in, then it comes up correctly. Something is going on behind the scenes. What is happening in those 10 minutes? I don't get any sort of a status bar or error message.

Try running it from: C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe

I've been having the same issues, I've put my PC in the DMZ, ran a few network traces and no issues found. Decided to run the eve file directly and I was in straight away. Might have been a fluke, might not have been. Give it a shot JIC.

I uninstalled the whole game after some problems loggin in and getting the grey button.

Now when I downloaded the client installer. I get same launcher that wont start download of the client nor will it allow me to log in (to see if the download happens afer log in) I just get gray button.

Before the whole uninstall I tried the delete laucher directory method but .. using rapeir after that gives me just some error message after the repair hass been going on for a little while.

I've been having the same problem with the "LAUNCHING" button rolling over and the exe-file "Not Responding".

I tried the following:
`clearing the cache;
`running as administrator;
`opening the launcher, closing it and then running again;
`rescache;
`repair tool;
`exe file;
`setting admin privileges;
`disabling anti-virus;
`disabling user account permissions;
`uninstalling, defragging, running disk utilities;
`installed 4 times (online and offline).

Now I'm frustrated, have submitted a ticket and suspended my account.

Follow-up:
" enabling a check of the shared cache resources in the launcher settings does not work;
" swithcing between a dsl fixed line or faster lte connection does not work;
" changing password does not work.
