Switch to using Google as a search engine, then you'll see them on every website you ever visit.

I found EvE through word of mouth. I was playing Freelancer online, and lamented on some forum about features I'd love from a space sim. Like, being able to actually fly the battleships in Freelancer, more ships, more variety of ships, this, that, the other, you know how it goes. Someone replied with, "Sounds like you'd like EvE. But be wary of it, it's got graphics that'll probably make your computer cry out for mercy".

I liked what I saw, but I put it aside for two years because my computer was dang near bare-bones at that point and I knew I couldn't run it. A few months after I upgraded to a decently powerful machine, there was some cracked.com article on "The 10 biggest d*ck moves ever done in online gaming". EvE had like, 4 spots on that list. That reminded me, "Oh yeah, there was that game I was going to play".

Since then, almost every article that Cracked does, that involves people being bad or being dumb and online games, EvE gets mentioned somewhere.

I've tried to get friends into it, but I've had no success. The only guy I got to actually play it said he really enjoyed it, but he was broke and he couldn't handle the subscription fees every month.

And before Eve Solecist asks, yes, I played with him.

They need to play this one in movie theaters.

Even if EVE gameplay is actually nothing like that, it is flashy enough to get a buttload of new subs.

Hell, I'd buy a ticket to some random movie just to see that on the big screen.

I saw this somewhere: http://imgur.com/gallery/jj16ThL

Don't remember where. I just thought, "Hmmm. That looks like fun."

I leave ads on because I'm pretty fascinated by how much I get tracked. It always cracks me up when I buy something from Amazon, and then see ads for that item on Facebook for the next 2 weeks. Oops. Sorry guys. Already purchased.

I see EvE banner ads a lot.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

I was watching scifi channel and I watched a television advertisement. It was the only ad on tv that I've ever seen for Eve, but it got me.

I was introduced to EVE Online not by having ever heard of it before, but by stumbling across someone playing it on a laptop on the library wifi while I assisted a policeman in throwing out a homeless man who was masturbating in the periodicals section.

No foolin'.

I remember that !!!

I wasn't homeless, I was just between addresses...

Hmmm... mid-day here on Denver time, and only 30k active in game. It was 50k at this time a few years back. CCP, lets bring in new folks to experience the new player experience. Gotta advertise, get those eyes and minds to take a trial plunge. Lol

Yeah, they do. I used to see the ads all the time from searching stuff about freelancer.

These days everyone has cookies trackers and ads on the DL so you dont see em as much.

Hmm, I see advertising for Elite: Dangerous (and I'm guessing we must have EVE gankers there in pvp, they're the ones telling complainers that it's called Elite: Dangerous, not Elite: Safety).

I didn't have anything on the machine to indicate the presence of that game otherwise, so it must be widespread advertising. But really, EVE Online needs more exposure too.

I have seen some of their advertisements in the internet and have not seen spaceships on them! Not even one Incursus! Outrageous!

Here's an idea for a unique advertising campaign.

I will tattoo the EVE logo on my ****. It would get a lot of exposure in my phallus puppetry videos. Contact my agent for the fee as I don't feel right taking money for my performance art.

No need since EVE is the boredomhole.

I've seen Eve advertised on mmorpg.com and it crops up in my steam store browser from time to time too.

Are you saying there were for a time Eve Incursion trailers, played in theaters, IRL at about that time?
