The login works !

Just do not press ENTER !

When you do that, it jumps back,
because ENTER is defaulted for CANCEL for some brilliant reason !

Instead just click the button !

It works !

Once upon a time people would say EvE is hard because there was so much to understand and it had so many quirks...it's good to see that CCP hasn't completely exterminated those questionable design choices....if anything making the enter button default to cancel is an improvement of their true form.

Good design suggests that the Enter button should be linked to the default action*. I don't cancel my login very often, but I do login quite frequently.

Sounds like a bug to me, tbh.

*In some cases, such as file deletes, or configuration changes, good design suggests the enter should be linked to the safest option (which is cancel, in most of those cases).

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

Tbh I think it has been like this for ages and barely anyone noticed.

So you are telling us, the incredibly sharp people of GD section, missed this for a long time?
Cmon, is that even possible???

This actually...could explain it. Problem is it doesnt happen every time. At least for me.

So the little voice in my head says "But, but, but I've been doing this with Enter for years and its totally random the last few weeks. Why?" Shocked

No idea tbh. Bug gets my vote atm.

This thread doesn't have anything about the fact that you get asked for a character due to not having logged in from the IP address that you have, the last time you logged on, and you wouldn't have noticed the enter bug if you didn't get the IP bug.

Some people don't have static IPs due to their ISP, or it gets reset when their router/power goes off.

It's asked me to confirm my character name 3 times today, it's a pain in the arse (especially when it doesn't affect the forum if you stay logged in).

We need to be able to disable this option, I haven't even enabled two factor authentication.

I noticed there is also a bug that says you have a new IP address if you enter your password incorrectly. Roll

It seems like people never do this.

I had no idea, tbh. For me this is common whenever I lose my session cookie.

I guess when someone only sees what he cares about and not how it helps people,
then that someone will find thousands of thinga to complain about thousands of things.

I'm happy it helped people solve the funny issue. ^_^

This was really annoying me yesterday.

Yet Enter seemed to work fine on all days before that.

I don't get it.

But thanks.

It simply has to be that hitting an Enter button throws you into a repetitive loop. After all, art must mirror reality.

There just isn't anything that can be said!
