Fitting takes infinitely longer for women than for ships, they generally disregard your input entirely, and your ship will never complain that cargohold expanders make its hull look big.

Wish your ship looked different? Buy a SKIN! Wish your lady looked different? You're better off keeping that to yourself.

If you decide it's time to drop corp for a while, your ship doesn't question how you're going to pay the bills.

Dating UP avoids a lot of the associated costs of having girlfriend that requires tonnes of presents and attention to keep her interested.
I'm not that great a guy... Why the heck would I want to be with someone worse than me, who also makes LESS than me. I'll only be with someone who have been to university and owns a home. Women like this buy the stuff they want when they want it, and are generally just busy enough to keep them off my back long enough for me to do my thang.

Girl friend skills seem to disappear at downtime. You wake up each day and have to learn them all over again.

EVE updates itself and lets you download a patch. The patch generally takes 5 to 7 minutes and is reliable. If it takes longer, EVE gives you free stuff.
Girlfriends rarely update themselves. Most times, patches are unacceptable, but if you can talk her into one, you definitely going to pay for it.

You can play EVE for 10 years, and it still only costs 15 bucks a month.
You'll NEVER, EVER, have a girl that costs 15 bucks a month. And 10 years will cost most men everything they own.

It's all jokes. Most of us are well into adulthood, and most of the Eve players I know (myself included) are happily married. Hell, my wife plays too. Not alongside me - her char is as independent as she is. Doesn't preclude the jokes from being funny.
