I'll offer a simple response to this request.

"Submitted per your right" entitles you to the same right as any other capsuleer in the cluster under CONCORD law, regardless of Imperial title or standing.

The Directive Enforcement Department deals in interstellar law, not the politics of the five houses.

So basically, you're saying that your interpretation of law supersedes any governmental interpretation of law and you're just going to do whatever the hell you want and eff the Empire, State, Federation and Republic?

Yet I'm the criminal?

(That's four houses by the way. I know you have a problem with Scope, but you might want to catch up on current events. The Jove are gone. Or are you saying they're not?)

Just my .02 ISK, but maybe you wouldn't have so many people willing to live outside "interstellar law" if you created laws that weren't arbitrary and designed to give CONCORD unlimited power.

Forgive my ignorance. I always thought the DED dealt in law-enforcement, not the creation of law. I must have missed the memo when King Khanid and the Empress turned control of the Empire over to you. I'll have to do some further studying of Scripture to find the passage that says God gave our worlds to you, His Chosen, so CONCORD shall rule the worlds of the Heavens.

You associate yourself with a ragtag group of Angel Cartel loyalists who can barely form a coherent blockade of a solar system, so yes, criminal is the legal term for you, albeit very loosely used based on the apparent incompetence of your outfit.

The only reason you aren't behind bars is that frankly, the DED has bigger fish to fry. Then again, everyone's time comes.

For reference, there are five heir families that make up the five Imperial houses. If I was referencing the empires, I would have used the term empires. If you have issues with counting to five, perhaps you should put more effort into making sure your bottom line is black at the end of the month, rather than making a fool of yourself and your group of purse-snatchers on the Intergalactic Summit again.

My purpose isn't to question why people break the law. My duty to the Assembly is to pursue and detain those who do so. Why is irrelevant, that's for the courts to decide.

If I believed in God, I'd comment more than affirming the fact that my belief lies in my duty. The pursuit of justice.

That said, clarification on my original statement has been made. Let's not have a pissing contest over three people who've been arrested perfectly within the bounds of interstellar law.

That's all the DED has for you at this time. Please check with the office of press for further information.

Oh how wonderful!

And here I was convinced that the DED had hired a rogue drone as its mouthpiece.

Yes, me and my ragtag little association of Angels certainly made a mess of that Tamo blockade. I guess we'll have to try and do better next time, especially when we generated so much public attention. By the way, did you guys ever find those three missing Rhea-class jump freighters that a different group of Angels nicked from under your and Propel Dynamic's noses? Sloppy work watching us, when you should have been watching them.

And yes, you do have bigger fish to fry. Sansha Kuvakei, Bloody Omir, Fatal and Rabbit. Your list of failures is far, far longer than ours. But what does a pickpocket know, anyway?

Thank you very much for your response. You evaded every question perfectly while creating doubt as to my credibility. In time, you could make quite the political figure. May God keep you safe in the night, until He grants you all you so richly deserve.

Um ... Mr. Mokk?

You said before that your ... faith, or duty ... or ... um. Anyhow, that you were being drawn towards a dark path.

You seemed to feel that it was a necessary thing.

So ... um. Respectfully, is there some way you can see in which you, doing this, could possibly be helping things right now?

... not that I agree with the kind of high-handed approach CONCORD's taking, but ...

Shut up, you incompetent Stillwater tit.

What is it with you and yours and the constant insistence on making the Cartel look like fools?

Probably because they didn't get invited into the Dominations club and had to vent frustration over it.

I'm heartened to know you understand that. There are many of late that have doubted this, so I shall enact my right as any other capsuleer in the cluster.

Gotcha. The people, still want, nay... need to know. We all have a right despite your channels of Bureaucracy.

My office thanks you for coming out and trying to quell this query, but the query to DED/CONCORD still stands 'open' via the Open Letter as you can hear by the concerned voices contained within the replies of this letter.

Your answer, however, suffices per your rank as Director. Blessings be.

WAIT WAIT WAIT... I was rash in my last reply. Upon further review of your answer by my Cardinals and Bishops, the following statement in and of itself requires response.

Arve Vesren wrote:

You just inferred that the following statement submitted here forthwith...

Max Singularity wrote:

Query:
Based upon the articles of foundation detailed above… what is CONCORDS role and relationship to the Drifters?

The answer to what is CONCORDS role and relationship to the Drifters is regarded as classified?

I was expecting a simple answer like, "There are currently no diplomatic relations between DED/CONCORD and the Drifters" but apparently upon your answer, such a simple, unclassified answer has not been presented.

This should be in all common sense an easy and no-nconfrontational question... yet it is regarded as CLASSIFIED, your relationship to the Drifters?

You have just poured fuel on a fire and as a Director of DED and have added more impetus to the query at hand.

You may have nothing further to add, but you now have much more explaining to do. May the blessings of the people continue to grant thee reign of law over those you serve.

Did you know that if you score 15 Debate Points against CONCORD, they're legally required to drop their security classification on the topic of debate?

I doubt that I would be telling a group of overgrown demi-immortal kids such as us exactly what my relationship with the Drifters was either. Capsuleers don't exactly have the best record for carefully reasoned responses to threats.

As I said previously Intelligence is often vague and more often something that you do not want an enemy force to know that you have.

I am not convinced as to the threat posed by the Drifters and in any case we can do nothing more than prepare for the worst should they be preparing to attack. Preemptive strikes are impossible and ill advised without a clear and present danger to the Empires. A case in point being the interference at Yulai during the autopsy broadcast. The Drifters could have used their DD's on the station yet they did not. They simply stopped the broadcast of a ghoulish dissection of one of their forms for the so called scientific benefit to us.

I have a feeling there is a third player here and the Drifters aren't necessarily our main concern. If I am proved wrong I will defend the Empires to the best of my abilities, if not I will happily fly alongside them.

As to this open letter, would any capsuleer corp simply divulge all information that they have to any and every other entity in New Eden? I very much doubt it, so we should no be surprised that DED and CONCORD are withholding information until such time as they deem that they need to share such information.

So when will you be arresting those in charge at Eifyr & Co for failing to immediately alert CONCORD of Drifter armada. Surely there were some laws broken there yes?

If you have a request to make relating to information release from the DED, feel free to contact your local representative of the Imperial Chancellor, who will bring your request to the attention of the Imperial delegate to the Inner Circle, and the Imperial Minster of Foreign Affairs.

With that in mind however, the information you request is still regarded as classified, so it may save you some time to simply wait for the DED to make a public statement once our findings are complete.

We have nothing further to add at this time.

Finally, people with common sense. Now, following this statement, I have better hopes for a more immersive and comprehensive activity spectrum for capsuleers in this matter. Twisted

Just the standard incompetence and lack of professionalism I'd expect from the DED's PR division. For a second I thought you could find someone with a cool and clever head amongst your assortment of uniformed thugs, but I guess I was wrong.

But, let's stay on topic.

I look forward to seeing how you'll manage to drag yourself out of this one. But don't worry, people will always have high hopes in the institution of DED and CONCORD.

Won't they?

I'll suppose, about one week from now, the prison ship transporting our three whistleblowers will suddenly get intercepted by 'unindentified pirates' and blown up?

DED gets rid of that elephant in the room, and reminds people of New Eden how important they are to protect them from the 'pirate' threat. How convenient.
