Is it possible for GM's to remote into your account, while it is active, take control of your ship and actually make the propulsion fire, lasers/weapons cut off, and maneuver your ship?

I have, strangely, had this happen a great deal this month, where, without me even touching the mouse or key board, my ship will break away from asteroids im mining and begin to fly away on there own. I have also seen it change direction and even had lasers cut off for no reason at all, while I have always, without touching it, watched it begin to move away on its on and change directions.

I know in WoW, it is possible for a GM to remote in, watch you, "hijack" your character and even take complete control of them, making them move on their own.

If it is, how would I go about reporting this type of corruption and harassment?

Are you using a wireless keyboard and or mouse? Does it have a good range? It is possible someone else near you is using the same keyboard and or mouse and it is operating on the same frequency.

My first suspect would be a flaky mouse, then a flaky keyboard.

I keep a cheap ($5 Dell optical) spare mouse that I ONLY ever use for testing. It has shown that on average a mouse lasts me about 2 years before one breaks in some fashion, and I am not a big gamer.

Keyboards tend to last me a lot longer, and I prefer super-clicky Cherry MX "Blue" keys (actually, I wish these were even more clicky, like "buckling-spring" switches) that drive most other people insane.

No, it is not.

According to the GM team such a thing as direct character control is not possible. I asked them.
Characters can be moved (teleported) in specific situations but only with the explicit approval of the player given in advance.

Taken the above into account ,it is highly unlikely someone else is purposefully interacting with your character against your wishes while you play. It is far more likely you are facing a technical issue like for example the one suggested above by Paranoid Loyd.

Edit: Feel free to mail Internal Affairs, but I would like to request that you change the thread title to be less insinuating toward the hard working GM team.I have changed the title myself. ISD Ezwal

No, GM's cannot remote in to your game, nor can they take control.
Maybe a Dev could, but I doubt it. Most likely either you have a fault in your mouse/keyboard.. or someone is remoting in to your actual computer..

I used to drift off into space, then I realized double clicking on things made you move at them. also if you are orbiting something and it goes away you will drift into space.as for the lasers it is possible the crystal was used up, or whatever you were shooting at died.

I'm pretty sure it was a mix of dodgey mouse, and/or me not paying attention. I find it frustrating as there really isn't all that much contrast between the blue/grey of the speed indicator, and when you are zoomed out you don't notice you are even moving when flying a slower ship. I've even lost a ship because of it, where I thought I was aligned when I tried to warp it turns out I wasn't...

Thank all of you for your opinions and information.

While I do not have remote mouse or keyboard, they are a couple years old, I use an optical mouse.

I will see to replacing them next time I get paid and if it continues after that, I will contact internal affairs and see if they will investigate the matter and neutralize the problem, if any.

Also. Is it possible for someone to send a link, in game, via EvEmail, with a link that can be used to hack your password or is that only possible on the boards?

In the course of a mining cycle the laser will randomly cut out and come on hitting another spot on the roid it should not not have I ever heard of a laser turning off (ie stop cycling ) unless your ore hold is full. Your ship will bounce off a roid if you have your ship approach the roid it will bounce then head away and then re approach the roid

I use ice miners and they cut off, it isent the hold being full or the glacier depleting, I have see it literally stop cycling as if I clicked on it to make it stop without touching mouse or keyboard. Earlier today, I had my ship drift and when I went to attach it back to the orca, it turned around and tried to go the exact opposite direction of where I sent it and where I pointed and click, its what led me to believe it was something else other then technical.
