Issues, Workarounds & Localization

Same thing here, on two way differents PCs Win 7 - Win 8.1, i bet it's a networking issue. Any way to download patch without launcher? (The game worked proprely, launcher bypassed, yesterday)

I don't use IE.

Edit: I noticed this started happening around when I enabled two-factor authentication, but I can't imagine that would have anything to do with this

I fixed it, it was a networking issue... Something went wrong between me and CCP update servers. Try using a free vpn service (I used cyberghost, worked well).
Close vpn after update and keep bypassing launcher...

This is really pissing me off.

I managed to fix this issue on my PC and although I'm running Windows 7, it's possible the same solution will work for you.

I ran the repair tool several times, but that alone wasn't resolving the problem for me.

I should have mentioned the loss of launcher preferences and data including usernames - my apologies for not including that, I'll update the linked post.

I only have one username to worry about, so it didn't really strike me as important since it wasn't much of an inconvenience in my case, but I should have remembered that many people have multiple accounts.

I'm glad it has fixed the problem for you, though. :D

Yeah, this fix broke the launcher in a new but significantly less annoying way. So I'll still call it a success. But no matter what I do the launcher doesn't remember my usernames any longer.
