I doubt that, CCP already stated a variable sec is going to be a mess to handle, and I can see why.

Just think only of the structures that require 0.4 or less sec status, how are you going to handle it if for some time the sec status drop, they get anchored and then it rises again?

You know, considering they are cyborg these guy could be vulnerable to Entosis links. That could be interesting, someone should try that theory out.

while this would be cool it will never happen. most of the players are just loading the game and mind their own business. they don't care what gets added or changed on a regular basis. they just want to log in and play. if these majority of players would suddendly log in a world of chaos where they have no idea what is happening a lot would quit.

it will be handled with events in some specific systems probably.

To be honest I cannot get too worked up about this. How many times has CCP promised us or hinted at something truly awe-inspiring and wonderful...and yet delivered a watered-down and incomplete version? (See WiS and other dropped balls for appropriate tears and gnashing of teeth.)

I'm just saying if past is prologue....I really wouldn't get too excited about this.

It might be hard to do but CCP have done hard stuff before, it just depends on how enthused they are about it. Keep in mind that my prediction is as much wishful thinking as it is based on speculation from the Scope vids.

The only structures that I know of that require 0.4 or less sec status are moon mining arrays and some of the specialized anchorables like the Cyno Jammer. It depends on how they update the sec status; if it's dynamically calculated, they could have the structure check the system sec status on each cycle or upon activation depending on type. If it's calculated at down-time, then the object wouldn't be able to activate if the system raises higher than 0.4. In the case of moon miners, the POS would still be there, just you wouldn't be able to use the miner again until the sec status dropped back down. So, get out there and keep the status down by disrupting miners and mission runners =).

It would set up an interesting schism between those with a vested interest it the sec status being low and those with an interest in it being high. You might even be able to get people to pay you not to disrupt them so they can have a safer farming area (cough...CODE...cough), granting you de'facto sov over a high-sec system muahahaha.

Sorry, I just get all worked up by threads like this, lol.

I agree.

They're just drifters after all. They might be on the Rambo side of 'just a drifter', but then the good normal citizens of Hope never had to worry, only the Police did.

Concord should be getting a bit nervous about now.

but on a better note, my money is on the fact that something is up with Concord and the DED, its very unlike a peace keeping force to simply IGNORE Drifter threats in high security space and ultimately attempt to COVER UP the pending invasion. Hard thing to keep under wraps... but I can't help but wonder if Concord is no longer on our side.................

I am currently under deployment on behalf of the Empire, and so far I have managed to harvest data logs from the Jovian structures. On a hunch I tried turning the entosis link onto the wormholes and devices keeping them open that the Drifters have been using, but with no luck. I have yet to attempt linking to a Drifter ship, but my instincts tell me that would end very badly for my research.

We can still, however, expect the worst(not get to worked up about this), hope for the best and hopefully be pleasantly surprised!

Been tried on drifters and seekers - no effect. Seems to be purely a structures thing.

I know this could be a massive waste of time but, eh, someone got time so it I'm sure what about those active Talocan structures in Shattered W-Space?

I mean there is a ton of things out there to try this stiff on bit most would likely lead to nothing. Still I think it would be worth the hassle to try out random structures to know If they yield and thing. Same goes for sleeper caches.

So, the big round structure you can see in the video is a "Sentinel Hive" and it seems to be a staging point for Drifter battleships.
You can find these in new WH-systems you have to enter through the "Unidentified Wormholes". But be careful, these wormholes are one-way only (at least for now). You can scan your way back to k-space through other "regular" wormhole systems though.

2015:05:11 While in a system with both a Jovian Observation tower and circadian seekers, a strange, very loud resonating tone was coming from my ship. At the time, an entosis link was in the cargo hold. After the circadian seekers warped away, the deep, slowly pulsating vibration slowly faded as I left the system. Apon jumping the next gate, I was met by two Drifter battleships and shortly after scanned. No hostile actions, but it seems very odd and too much of a coincidence. There was no observation device or wormhole in system for those drifters to have gotten there so quickly.

When Drifters show up, its really bad, you see them acting like a scavengers, its not really good sign.

Custom ship skins, character creator style "repaint". Bring it!
