If They Made A Stargate Version of Eve Online Would You Play?

They currently have different species aka races, different factions and political environment.

Playable Factions
Ancients (Ancient Humans)
Ori (Evil Versions of Ancients)

Tau'ri (Modern Humans)
Lucian Alliance (Rogue Humans)

Tok'ra (Jaffa)
Goa'uld (Evil Jaffa)

Asgards (Modern Asgards)
Lost Tribe (Rogue Asgards)

NPC Enemies
Wraith
Replicators

They have multiple ships for each and every race there currently is. Meaning if a player decides to play Ancients, they already have multiple ships they could progress through. Each race has different types of weapons, some even hybrid of weapons like the Tau'ri which allows them to make hybrid weaponry. They also have their own strengths and weakness, like humans are too young and don't have full understanding, but they are great at reverse engineer.

Heck this game could take place in the milky way and pegasus galaxy, allow for unique gameplay mechanics to be placed within the game. Maybe this is wishful thinking for me, but I would love to see the players in this game response to this, would you be interested in a game like this but based on Stargate Universe?

It's not possible.

A game like EVE has to grow organically,
meaning it has to start with low numbers and build up from that.

Considering the tens of thousands of people who would jump into this ...
... I don't see how this would ever work at all.

And this has nothing to do with EVE, btw. :)

Sorry this doesn't have anything to do with Eve, I just wanted to satisfy my curious itch.

If it doesn't have anything to do with EVE, isn't it in the wrong forum?

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

I reported it as such.
You might want to ask ISDs to move it to OOPE, else it might get locked.

Nope. I like Eve for Eve. We are pretty unique in the fact that we don't have aliens running around and I really like that.

Who's this "they" of whom everyone speaks? It's as though people think there's a stable of game developers champing at the bit waiting for some genius gamer (who barely passed high school with no university prospects, but with a really cool computer) to miraculously come up with the next fabulous idea for the only game in town.

As start-up costs soak up $25 million before even thinking of actually developing a game, it's extraordinarily doubtful any investor on this planet will view investing in "a fabulous MMO" as much of a good idea. If THEY printed money in their basement, would THEY bother with a really cool game just for YOU?

There just isn't anything that can be said!

I'll play any game as long as it can grab my interest and hang onto it. If it's a great game I will play, even despite my opinion that anything with the term Stargate in it is usually mostly ****

Actually this is a terrible idea though like goddammit, great creations are original not copies of imitations, now really thinking on this a Stargate version of Eve would most likely be so bad that the only time it would happen is in a **** forum thread like this haha

Actually you never know though. The gaming industry, like the movie and writing and music industry, is so **** that I wouldn't even be surprised if someone tried to do something stupid like this though

**** thread

I like that EVE did not come from a known franchise.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.
