be a target in return for bonuses

tl;dr - would be nice to have 'come and get me if you are hard enough' ships bypassing the aggression mechanics.

posted part of this idea elsewhere but thought it might benefit it's own thread in ideas.

My idea is that you could have ships that sacrificed some CONCORD protection in return for bonuses.

The ships would *always* appear flashy red to players no matter what the pilot sec or the space sec. CONCORD, gates and stations would *not* attack them though. These could be new hulls or something like 'pirate issue' versions of existing hulls.

In return for this they could have some decent PvP bonuses - 20% on tank or dps. It would have to be decent because by being a constant target the player would have given up the advantages of choosing the fight.

This would really benefit high sec PvP because there would be more targets without having to go through all the war dec nonsense and or high sec'rs that want to fight - just go out in one of these (or in a fleet of them) and the fight comes to you (and if you want to go shopping or isk making just switch to an ordinary boat).

Players could use ordinary ships and attack these ships without the aggression mechanics.

It does seem to me that there are lots of people who want to fight in high sec but spend a lot of time working round the mechanisms to stop them: ie. can flipping or war decs.

The in game rationale would be something like dropping the security status management electronics means that there is space to fit some other stuff.

The only problem I can see is that you are basically going to unleash a bunch of ships in null with higher bonuses and no downside - you could however make these ships *always* appear as hostile in null overriding being 'set to blue' so the only way alliances members could recognise you as a 'blue' would be by knowing your name. (haven't spent enough time in null to know how that would work out)

well that's seriously helpful criticism

I know some low security status players like being targets and welcome the challenges and I also know that finding fights in high sec is a total pain. This isn't a 'pvp' flag BTW - if it's anything it's an "I'm actively looking for a flight" flag.

so instead of being an arse why not offer something helpful.

why is it such a bad idea you can't even be bothered commenting?

I can see this could be exploited by those of negative sec status (like myself), to not get concorded in return for being flagged (which we are anyway).
There are many ways to get pvp in highsec without pvp flagging ships. Therefore, I do not support this idea.

-1. Not supported.

I was initially going to post something constructive, but I couldn't do it without starting to rant about how horrible your idea was. I still don't want to go through your idea closely, so I'll leave you with the TL;DR version: The goal you're trying to achieve is fine, but I think you managed to find one of the most horrible implementations possible. It's never going to happen.

Come to nullsec. Shoot anything without CONCORD. Take off training panties.

Pirates of the Burning Sea does this, to some level of success. If you PvP flag yourself, you move faster on the open sea but subject yourself to attack by other pvp flagged players.

That being said, I think most would agree that a PvP flagging system doesn't really fit in with EVE's gameplay.

I don't always post on the forums, but when I do, I post with my main.

^^ This.

There are better ways to implement easy fight-finding in hisec, like a legitimate 1v1 or fleet-vs-fleet mechanic, perhaps providing aggression upon agreement of both parties.
