Is it possible to get a Slim client for EvE.

Is it possible to get a Slim client for EvE, something that really is no more than an overview and a bunch of + on the screen?

I had to drop some of my accounts because i could not run them all at the same time any more.


Baring that i cant get one would it be possible to make my own, by removing a lot of the graphics from the game on my end?

Don't modify the EVE client outside of its normal settings. You could screw it up.

As for a slim client I would also like to have one as part of a general moving away from full graphics for mundane tasks.

However there a bit of an issue with that. FCs would start requiring slim clients during ops and that means that the graphical assets CCP spent hard amounts of time working on would be far less important.

A middle ground might be a new tactical view that would resemble tactical displays of the 80s. Some call it tron mode I call it low poly glowing models of assets in a beautiful way to make use of limited graphical assets.

First and foremost we need means to switch training and orders and other docked tasks through a web interface, a small CCP approved or made program, or the login screen.

I wouldn't mind being able to do market and production stuff with slim client but being able to use it for pve would just mean botters could get more clients per PC so we'd see more and more bots.

if it let me run my other accounts at the same time fair trade*,as of right now i don't use my other 4 accounts because running a 2nd account with all low settings there's a 70% performance drop and with 3 accounts running its unplayable so i just unsub them


just the other day befor i posted this i was thinking about starting by up my account with the orca guy to move stuff around while i do incursions, then i got to thinking about how bad the game runs now with 2 accounts running and was like its just not worth it

so this post happened






* (given the fact CCP only says there fighting bots and dose not allow us to see the information about whos a bot, if your breaking the EULA by botting dose CCP still have to keep there end of the deal and protect your information?)

I don't think this will happen. Even if you'd be able to customize the UI like you could in WOW I don't think you'd safe that much on resources to run all of your clients.

Before I changed my middle grade gfx board two months ago running like five clients was bad. However minimizing their windows at least took off load from CPU and GPU. So you're left with the RAM bottleneck.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

I'm interested to know what configuration you are trying to run your clients in.

Do you display all clients at once (in windowed mode) or move between them in fullsreen mode(using windows key say). Moving between clients is far more effecient, though you can only control 1 at a time.

AFAIK the client itself isn't very resource hungry except for the graphics side, have you turned all the settings to minimum (As essentially that is as 'slimline' as it will get).

I dream of an EVE with no bots and no alts. This would make both easier.

As others have posted, this would be a botter's dream. I'd prefer that they make it harder to run multiple clients concurrently, not easier.

The first step is always admitting you have a problem.


And to answer your real question. No.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

so CCP should pour countless development man-hours into developing something that would diminish EVE as a whole and assist botters who cut into their profits so you can avoid paying a couple hundred bucks for another machine?

why dont you just upgrade your pc? TBH its not CCP's fault your hardware is old

i dream EvE for who you MUST PAY with real money... Remove plexes will remove bots... will remove alts... if not ALL huge part of them .


I will still pay for atleast two accounts tho!



i have atm 3 active accounts atm and pay with plexes . I have dream of EvE with out plexes . What a purge would that be!

better still allow PLEX but you can only use it on secondary accounts, so you can alts but not your main

It'd be a great way to reduce their subscription rate and income to more manageable levels. Hell, I'm not sure I'd keep even one account if I lost the ability to run alts concurrently.
