FYI, the main seedbox is offline while I look for a new home for it.

The secondary seedbox is still available, but it can't go above ~1 Mbyte/sec.

My current seedbox provider changed their accepted payment methods, and as I can't use them, I have to move the seedbox. The first place I tried, on a friend's recommendation, turned out to be completely useless after 2 days of setup. I'm trying another datacenter location, and it will take about another 2 days to complete the move... hopefully it also won't be complete garbage.

My second attempt at a new seedbox was a bit more successful.

Fast network, lots of drive space, BUT twice the price, and less than half the amount of memory Cry

For now at least, it is up and seeding.

Any chance of getting another torrent up for MOSIAC update. I still can't download from the website.

I'll have it ASAP. I'm at the office right now, but I'll see what I can do from here.

Hey Tau, I've been doing the same thing over in this thread, is there a way we could combine our efforts. I'm willing to move myself over to your thread, but there are some tips and things that I think are worth bringing over as well, will you take a look?

I haven't tested the DHT portion thoroughly, I should probably try, or not. If you think it's better to run the torrents your way I'll go with that. I've been running without trackers, and using the CCP links as web seeds. Problem is I wouldn't see that traffic in my torrent client (uTorrent), and nobody stops by to say their torrent downloads worked (though I do see peers).

Well... this thread is about a year older, but I admit your thread has more info. I don't recommend giving-up on yours.

For now I'll add a link to your thread. If I think of a better solution, I'll let you know.

I've not investigated using web seeds, but if people are having enough download problems from CCP to use a torrent, I doubt they will help much. I'll consider them again when I get a chance.

As I have DHT, PEX, and UDP disabled on my seedbox, I have to use a tracker. My torrents are also marked private so as to avoid them getting added to DHT. This is the exact opposite of your torrent.

The last client release had about 21 downloads, but CCP also sat on that release for a lot longer than most. I don't think people seed very long, so my seedbox tends to serve all the data, and therefore improved connectivity between peers probably doesn't matter any at all.

You of course could join my swarm as a seed, but I'm prevented from doing the same to yours. If you name the torrent directory the same as I do, you won't have to download additional data other than the tiny check files (yes, they are redundant).

I suppose that's a solution. I'll add a link to your thread in mine, and start joining your torrents.

A seedbox, damn dude.

Hey dude, thanks a bunch for this - just one small question:

When I run the installer, I'm getting a "Target payload not found" message, very early in the process. I suspect I'm doing something dumb - would you be able to help?

(Ive extracted the files into a folder with the installer exe - also tried extracting them into their own folders in the same folder as the exe.)

You dont have to extract anything. Just run the installer and you will be fine.

Tried just having the 4 compressed downloads, and the install exe in the same folder - same issue.

You may want to verify the files using the torrent, or the checksums provided.

As in the first post, I uninstalled and did NOT erase the cache (optional, but if you do, you will lose all previous settings).

Then I double-clicked on the .msi file in the folder (there is no .exe); the 4 .cab files must be in the same folder.

DO NOT extract anything from the .cab files!

Hello,

So if I download this, delete and uninstall the game, and then reinstall -- the launcher will work and I'll be able to play again?

Sorry if this is common sense, I've been unable to really enjoy this game beyond a day or two since Feb and when I uninstall it takes me a very long time to connect to CCP's servers to download anything :((
