Issues, Workarounds & Localization

My friend has just started an account and has 13 days left in his trial. He did not get his free 12th anniversary gifts, given he had clicked the claim gifts tab at the bottom of the character screen it took him to the announcement page and found out he was getting the free augmentations and jackets, when he logged back into the game however, the option to redeem was not there, nor are the items in his inventory. Does anyone have any information or input as to why this is happening? Also, I checked to see if any of the augmentations could not be used in trial accounts and saw no such notations that it cannot be used on a trial account. I do know he is going to upgrade his account to a paid account, will these items be in his inventory when he becomes a regular paying player? If in any event that that is the problem?
