CCP owns you nothing, you have already gotten more then your money was ever worth.

It is one thing to give nothing at all. It's something different to promise stuff and even make a presentation about how awesome you are that you give stuff to reward long time customers and then give nothing at all. We have endured this CCP "we are awesome and will do great things"-fables for years and already know that they talk much and deliver less (well I have to say this changed a lot in the last year, thanks to CCP Seagull I guess), but this was just mean.

Thing is they did, if i recall they gave two players a year's subscription for Eve's tenth anniversary. Two players. The rest of us where told we'd have a station to dock in... That in itself was discriminatory. Roll

Never heard of that. Source?
Because I don't believe people get nvidia Titans ...
... and two get a lifetime sub.

Which is nothing more than a nice gesture anyway.

Perhaps it was Titans, I can't remember. I just remember two people where brought up on stage and given something for free as a thank you for subbing for ten years. Doesn't really matter if it was a biscuit, there's a principle involved. Eve is getting less and less Veteran friendly with nerfing of Caps and Supers leaving very little in the way of veteran content but Eve wouldn't exist if we hadn't all stuck with the game when it launched, amongst the DDOSing, TomB's nerf bat, the famous unplayable patch days with cries of 'rollback!', never mind the lack of any tutorial worth the name, so I don't think it's unreasonable to ask CCP to give a loyalty bonus to its long standing customers.

13 years and counting. Eve Defence Force is recruiting.

It would be cool. Rather akin to the British Queen sending you a birthday card when you reach 100 years old.

The impact would be cool.

Maybe a special ship too, which is totally bling, and nothing else, that can't be traded or lost or destroyed or taken out of hi-sec, or something. Basically, some ship that gives no real strategic advantage but also can't be 'sold' to non vets,. (or maybe ... only vets are able to pilot it ... yeha, that would work).

Anyway ... '04 player here, still going strong.

Yes it would be too much. You paid in one way or another for a service which was given to you. There is nothing else to add to that.

I would not care if they gave something but you are ASKING for too much. That is where my problem is with this attitude. Let them give you some appreciation if they want to but asking for something is just plain wrong.

So you ask people to bring you gift at parties or do you just accept they will bring you something if they feel it's appropriate?

I agree that vets can get recognition, but to "Please give free stuffs" is a bit too inappropriate.

I don't think they are obligated too do anything, at all. Just cause you were there and discovered Eve 10 years back, doesn't mean you're an all that special little cookie.

If I found Eve 10 years back, and got into it, I would be a bitter vet too. Doesn't mean I should get anything, in my opinion, at all.

You paid for service, you got service, it's not like they paid you for hard work, and labor...

Meh, just forget it. Sad

First there was a vet station announced.
That took a year or so to get denounced.

Then there was Falcon writing something like the community should come up with ideas.
Then there should had been a round table at (last?) fanfest.

And then there was not a thing at all.

Silence, a black hole swallowed it.

But to the ney sayers, there where 2 guys who got a big video card as reward at the 10 year fanfest.
A little token to the rest (not me) wouldn't have hurt.

Well 3 years to go for EVE turns 15, maybe that is time enough for CCP to come up with something for the 15 year old vets?

You are correct idd, but i remember times when there where like 3k players online back in time, in the weekends maybe 4.5k, if it wasn't for us oldies that sticked around then the game could have died very soon.

And yes i paid for the solid entertainment.

Would it be to much to ask for some little appreciation towards old loyal players, to maybe get a letter thats what.. 2 Eur and some autographs from the Devs or CEO on it ?

As far as i remember that wouldn't give you an advantage ingame :)

The monument costed alot, sending letters out would cost way less, and well i would see it as a collectors item, and i think i deserved one after all that time Smile

_____@" !? hmm snail ?

The fact that you stuck around doesnt give you any "right" to anything, it simply means you loved it all along and never stopped playing it :)

Im not trying to **** on your parade, but i simply dont understand why you feel so self entitled, just because you have played a game you like for 10 years?

Entitlement like this, makes me wanna womit tbh. You arent anymore special then the rest of us, and you deserve nothing else then the rest of us.

As far as im concerned, you already have a great reward. Millions and millions of SP, which gives you a clear advantage to anyone who havent trained the same thing you have.
Plus the fact that anyone who started playing later then you did, will never ever be able to catch up to you, SP wise.

it's nothing that great, but, most companies treasure repeat customers and customer loyalty (purely for business revenue reasons mind) so some little customer reward recognition is not vomit inducing mister :)

Guessing then you don't have any store cards, or BA exec membership, or nectar, etc ..... all the same principle.

650days+ with an average of 4 hours playtime each day.
!

Only 2600 hours of game time in 11 years? That's not a whole lot... (adds up to about 30 minutes per day)

Why exactly should that make you eligible for more rewards than players who've played for 4000 hours in 5 years?

Those "reward" were all designed around monetizing the damn thing. Not giving you something out of generosity because you are a repeat/long time customer.

however you shape it it's a reward, be it a discount via clubcard, or a 'gift' item like free flights with BA exec club ... it's all the same thing. Customer retention. Everything is monitized anyway, everything has a price, for someone.

It looks like a reward but they integrate it in their operating cost. If you feel "rewarded" by those, you are the target audience of such things because you don't know any ebtter than believing their spin.

Maybe you want CCP to integrate a "reward" into their cost so you can feel good about when you receive it?

I would like a reward as well.

Some of my former doings directly translated into CCP making more money,
thus I deserve far more than those who play for years and probably didn't even
put their own money into the system for the whole timeframe.

Of course I deserve this.
Why wouldn't I ?

I am definitely better than all of you combined and I still pay my sub with money,
because I believe CCP deserves it. I also bet that absolutely most of those who have played
for several years stopped giving CCP their money thus they deserve nothing.

Nothing!

PS:
Giving people something is good. Absolutely.
Giving people something after they asked for it though ... isn't.

That open a can of worms that should be left closed.

PPS: Yes I believe superoldvets deserve their station.
Why? Because CCP offered it, without anyone asking for it.

In case you didn't notice you pay per month not per hour Roll.If you want to make a statement at least think before you type .

To the naysayers , it's normal for companies to 'reward' their customers as said above.I have seen it in a lot of mmorpgs i have played in the past where you get something 'extra' if you have been playing for X amount of years so it's not like the OP is asking for something crazy.

That said , as a 2004 player myself i couldn't care one bit about what CCP does or does not do to reward us 10+ year old players.I have gotten what i paid for wich is one of the best mmorpg experiences out there.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

I'm not used to any company rewarding me so can you give at least one example of that happening?
