Extractor Control Unit, how much storage space do they have?

Hi I'd like to know how much storage space does an extractor control unit have?

Its just that by accident or perhaps my setup was wrong in the first place but I assumed the layout of a PI build was to route the extracted materials into a storage facility first and then route from there to multiple basic industry facilities etc. The thought behind this is that if the basic industry facilities only needs 3000 units per cycle but the extractor control unit extracts 9000, then I would loose the 6000 units extracted, hence by routing all 9000 units to a storage those initial unused units would get used eventually, but I recently change a PI layout but I'd forgotten to route from the extractor control unit to the basic storage unit, and this is where I noticed that the extractor control unit had actually accumulated all of the previous extraction cycles, hence the question, how much storage do extractor control units have since it would make my use of basic storage facilities obsolete.

Thanks in advance.

Extractors Control Units have ZERO storage space. They extract and at the end of their cycle, they route all their goods. Anything leftover is discarded when the next cycle finishes (i think).

So, yes, the trick is to route from the extractor to a storage silo, then from the silo to your basic facilities. I then route back to a spaceport from the factories to boost stuff into space.

No, it hadn't. Without a route, the exxtractor happily extracted each cycle and then discarded everything that it had extracted. If it doesn't have anywhere to route the materials, the materials are lost.
