Do Corporations use Personal Hangar Arrays?

Do any Wormhole Corporations use Personal Hangar Arrays instead of using division roles? Storage seems limited but I'm assuming you anchor a few and not deal with the risk and headache that comes with POS roles in wspace. Is this a thing?

No, they are useless for the most part.

We use them as a complement to the usual divisions. Have a couple of them online at the towers.

On the contrary, they are very usefull. Means my corp hangers don't get cluttered up by peoples stuff. This free's up my corp hangers for, you know, corp stuff.

They have a use for the communal pos we stick the new members in to start off with

Yes. It is in addition to CHA. The best defense is still scooping your valuable bits and logging them off each night.

Is it something that can fully substitute for assigning divisions to separate pilot's gear?

As long as everyone understands that should they put something in there, unless they retrieve it themselves, it's either staying permanently or getting trashed when the day comes you take it down then... sure you can squueze some use from it.

I wouldn't expect anyone in my corp to live out of for any extended period of time though.

They don't store ships and are hence pretty useless

Yeah, this.
You can't even unanchor it if it's not empty and no one except the character who put stuff in there can take it out again. (you'll have to shoot it, or you can't unanchor the POS either)
So if you want/need to move and someone is on vacation he is screwed.

Also if you have multiple characters you can't share stuff between them.
And then there is the thing that 50km^3 is basically nothing, if you do things like PI and gas harvesting.

It's nice as a supplement for high value stuff, but as a main form of storage it just isn't viable.

The main value is usually anyway not in items but in ships and you can't put those in a PHA.

Wouldn't ships in a Corp Hangar during reinforcement or theft from another pilot with the same division be just as unappealing?

That changed a while back. You can unanchor it now without even a popup warning. All inside is lost if unanchored.

The space is too small to be useful for ship storage. I have never tried but by volume we are talking 2 frigates at most. I recommend to my gang that they put small valuable things in it and use the CHA for bulk storage. Better yet log everything possible out. Orcas are great for that. The logout process adds 10min of packing at the end of the day and another 10 at the start of the day. Until/unless something stationlike which would allow you to secure your goods after reinforcement is added it is all you have. Until then its 20 less minutes of actually flying ships in space each day.

Live with people you trust and use a CHA/SMA.

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

They are all fun and games until someone scoops all your corps sleeper loot into it. I guess it would make for a nice KM, but sadly it will be your own :P

Only checked them when they came out and back then, directors/ceos couldn't scoop contents and people using it couldn't consolidate access across their alts. I figure they haven't changed since and are still useless.

Anything that could be scooped into it could just as easily be d4opp3d into a mobile depot or scooped into an iteron and logged off or taken away. If it is more than a couple of sites of loot someone probably screwed up, if not then it is likely a bargin price for learning that you have a pilot who should not be trusted.

you dont give multiple (non director) pilots access to the same division at the same POS unless they agree to it and trust each other. that's the whole point.

I've seen them in wspace. Boggles my mind that people anchor them.

Yaay!!!!
