a million little pieces lvl 3

Could someone give me some hints on how to complete this one?

-compared to all the other lvl3 security missions i've done this is stupid.

i warp in and i have a silly amount of npcs targeting me, and they hit HARD:

i fly amarr (another char), all my ships have a ~75% resist and active reps, maller survived about 5 seconds, my harbinger got out with 3% structure twice.

and i'm not THAT bad :)
am i missing something or is this just really, really poorly balanced?

-do i have to bring a full battleship for a lvl 3?

any help would be appreciated

First a caution and if you do not care about standings then ignore this.
This mission is what is known as a "faction" mission in that you are fighting against one of the 4 major factions.
Every one of these types of missions you run will increase standing with one faction and decrease it for at least one other.
In this case you are reducing your factin standings with Gallente by killing their pilots. Do enough of these and the Gallente Faction Police will harass you every time you enter Gallente space. Best advice is decline these faction missions until you A - know how they can affect your game play, B - you do not care what your standing to the Gallente faction is.

Now to the mission itself.

A million little pieces has timed groups that will auto agro. DPS is the best answer to this mission meaning kill each group as quickly as possible. Not much help now but it will help if you get this one again.

Warp in, target and kill one ship, or do as much damage as possible then warp out. Wash rinse and repeat until you can tank what is left in the pocket.

The harbie and the Maller both have drones bays are you using these drone capabilities for extra DPS if not do so.

It is not clear if you are using 2 characters or just tried 2 different ships. If you are using 2 characters then put light armor maint bots in both. Land in the pocket, target the other ship, launch drones and use them to provide additional tank dps for both ships, just be careful not to shoot the other ship instead. May not give you much but it will help sepecially when combined with the warp in and out tactic.

Ask around in local to see if someone will help. Be careful here it is possible that someone will offer to help and then kill you once you are in the pocket. Many will not help because they are affraid you will do the same thing.

Being in a player corp that helps and supports it's new / newer players is the ultimate answer to this type of problem.

Last thought is post you fit or fits, it is very likely that we can find a better fit to help you get this mission completed.

Destroy Communications Relay - Prevents reinforcements

Also, are you just sitting at the warp-in, not moving? Whether or not you have a AB or MWD, always move by orbiting something. Speed reduces damage.

Nice, do you remember the distance warp in - Communications Relay? That would help to know what to bring, Is just range or long long range weapons? Big smile

wonder what the standings effect is for just killing the 2 structures? might make it worth doing. also depends a bit on how long it takes to kill the two structures.

People have ran this mission in a T2 Passive fit drake, so damage can't be that high.

@Chainsaw: Using the blitz method gives no standing loss.

a correctly t2 fit passive drake has a much bigger tank than what some people do level 3s in. My lv3 drake wasn't well fit (not bad just not much t2) and the skills were appalling.

and if blitzing doesn't cause a standing loss I suggest doing that as you don't have to waste a decline on the mission if you care about faction standings. personally I say don't worry about gallente kill all the frog heads and rust buckets and sell/use the tags for personal profits.
