I am responding strictly to the conditions proposed in the original post.

These people think they will profit on the spread of commodities in differing regions to make billions, which are now spent on player interaction™ and hauling services instead. And they will - for a time, until the efficiency reaches such a level, where this spread evaporates for most items and you have a clinically dead universe.

The NPCs do not tire, they do not negotiate, they only serve a function.

This is akin to ISBoxer clowns running the show elsewhere.

Next logical step would be to enable multi-regional order modification and interaction, along with being able to accept an item exchange Contract, or to bid on an auction anywhere from the comfort of your Jita 4-4 office.

The next greater step in this devolution would be to remove all the Ores and Reprocessing, the middlemen, you know, and get your fresh Tritanium straight out of the rocks. Perhaps, a little NPC mineral seeding at fixed prices, as well? Should we, also, reduce layers of T2, T3 production? Useless middlemen - it's merely 1 + 1 = 2, some may not want to have 1 + 0.2 * 1.5 + 0.6 + 0.1 = 2

You may be unaware, that there's a whole profession working towards the efficient distribution goods and, indeed, supporting your whole economy - it isn't only RF Freight or PushX, the "Haulers Channel" has more people than the Ships and Blueprints trade channels combined.

Even the simplest act of allowing Deadspace/Faction modules to be exchanged on the regional markets instead of previously being able to do so only on Contracts, had plunged Modules & Munitions trade channel activity from 700 to 50 people in our times, but at least players have moved their wares, actions, strategies & tactics onto the regional markets, instead of disappearing completely.

CCP can't afford to lose flesh-and-blood interaction, and player-driven economy aspects at any cost right now - http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility

Taking a function that is currently filled my players and is an integral part of the EvE Economy is an awful idea. You'd have a completely safe way to transport goods (which you shouldn't have) unless CCP also created ganking bots that would fly around during downtime as well.

Beside, there isn't exactly a shortage of people willing to move things around New Eden as it is. You'd be creating a problem where one doesn't exist.

Greetings,

I thought it would be nice to have a NPC service where you can hire their convoys to move your items to one location or more during downtime. It sure would save a lot of time and make the game more profitable for the market side of the game.

Seems someone want to move stuff without risk. Would be okay if the hauler it during the game with an fragile industrial with autopilot. But i don´t think that whay you wanna.

No to safe features which kills player buisness.

However, I could agree with NPC Hauling for very, very small volumes with something like 2 active jobs per pilot at any one time.

It could be very useful for new players and total casuals who don't even attempt at figuring out the contract system. Perhaps, something like an unassembled frigate + fittings = 2750 m3?

These haulers should be just as vulnerable as the current NPC Tradegoods Couriers are, which go from station to station.

I read somewhere that there was an NPC Hauling presentation during the March Fanfest - I'll try to find the source. Smile

And the best part....

NPCs aren't capsuleers, so don't get "protected" by CONCORD.

The idea is stupid and brilliant at the same time.
All the sad escapists who refuse to accept reality will use NPCs ...

I would not get my hope too high about that. Not that I think they should be protected but just don't base your happiness on this panning out that way.

oh please make this happen, cuz ganking npc haulers has no penalty besides a drop in standing to the owners of the haulers... so free loot to all, an improvement to the shite the haulers drop nowadays XD XD XD
