The 2-factor authentication works.
In my browser under linux it even honours the 'don't ask again' button.
However, under wine the launcher forgets I pressed the button so logging in is a pain.
I am using Debian wheezy and wine 1.7.33.

If anyone is having success with the 'don't ask again' button let me know. I may need to upgrade some software...

I have the same issue. When I have a new IP address I get asked again. Also when I checked don't ask again.

Go to the Launcher settings:

1) Uncheck the box "Close the EVE Launcher after starting EVE Online"

2) Log In

3) Once it works, you can check the box again.

Works for me both on Linux and Windows. Had to file a support ticket to check this out.

This authentication method is not secure at all, easily bypassed by starting bin/exefile.exe. No need for a key at all. Pretty bad if you ask me.

That was mentioned in the fanfest keynote (that it could be bypassed if you don't use the launcher), and is planned for a future update. The first stage was to get it working on the account management page.
