Interesting, but 5mill in SP isn't going to really cut it for your corporation.

This is one of the most common misconceptions by new players. SP is way less important than attitude. Sure, there are some corps which are not very new-player friendly, but this is mainly because they don't want to teach and not because of SP. There are many more corps who would love to teach an eager newbro and don't care what your SP is. It's like applying for a job in real life; all the job applications have a ton of "desired skills" listed and very rarely do you meet ALL the requirements. But you apply for the job anyway, give a great interview, and show you are a fast learner. They'll hire you, just as many corps will recruit you well below their SP limit if your attitude is right.

I joined a wormhole corp at about 2M SP with almost no practical knowledge of the game. Within a few days I participated in a big fight and made a huge difference by jamming out the enemy falcon with my little blackbird. (Story here - you can tell I knew very little about EVE at the time but I had a blast anyway). Within a few months I became the main scout for our corporation and participated in every facet of its activities.

I'm not special. I was just eager and willing to learn. Joining a corporation with experienced players and interacting with them will speed up your learning process exponentially, and as a bonus is way more fun! Participating with others will also force you to push the boundaries of your comfort zone and try out new things, opening a ton of doors for the future, even if you go on to play primarily solo.

Most corps don't care if you have a 100m SP or none at all. They only are interested if you fit into them to have fun together.
If they are a good corp they even further you so you get the hang of eve and how to do what you want to do.

Hi everyone, Im relatively a new player but have experience in Exploration and mining.
Im getting to a stage where im finding myself bored out my brains, I mine 5 hours a day making around 60mil then do some exploration making around 200mill every couple of days depending how lucky I am, the point is im do these activities and straight away im finding I just haven't got the energy to do this, I have recently brought a stratios and looking into do some WH Camping at relic sites.
Its not all about making isk, its about having fun, its something thats missing for me.

What makes you guys to give you that motivation in doing different things from your own main activities?

This is, IMO, the most difficult aspect of EVE - connecting with other players. Solo activities in EVE, while they bring in some ISK, are simply dreadfully boring. Interaction with other players is the only source of fun in the game. But if you join the game on your own, like you did, and like I did, it's very difficult to find the right people you can connect with. I offer a few possibilities:

1) Jump into low and null with a cheap frigate and try solo PvP. It's not a social activity, but since you're going up against a human it can be a lot more interesting than mining a rock. It can be frustrating too, however, as you're unlikely to start off with a good win/loss ratio. But you might enjoy the challenge.

2) Join an NPSI fleet. There are several around. No corp-joining commitment is needed, just raise your hand to join the fleet, get on comms, and follow along. It's a very easy way to socially interact with other players in a cooperative setting. And the activities of such fleets are very exciting, too.

3) Join a newbie friendly corp. Brave Newbies, Karma Fleet and Pandemic Horde come to mind. I don't know too much about how these operate, though.

4) RvB is billed as a constant PvP fest with arranged fights of, of course, Red vs Blue groups. But I don't know how accessible they are for newbies, nor how social they are.

Eli was first, but I second ... join the NPSI channels RvB Ganked, Spectre Fleet, Bombers Bar and Redemption Road and x-up for a couple of different fleets/FCs to find out if it's your thing.

I'm my own NPC alt.

Get out of that npc Corp immediately and find some people doing what you're interested in.

Talk to them, try it, repeat till you find a group and/or activity you like and enjoy

Bullshit. A good corp doesn't give a **** about your SP, they care if you fit in. They care if you want to play. They care if you want to learn.

Lissandra,

Hit me up in game some time. I'm in the same boat you are and looking for some people to do some fun things with. A buddy of mind are talking to a corporation that doesn't mind low SP people and seem to be a cool bunch of people. Even if you aren't interested in that I would love to do some runs with you and get blown up a bit just to have someone else to have fun with in the game. I'm hitting a point where exploration isn't doing it for me anymore and I can't stand mining.

I just finished training mining barge up a bit and I can't even bring myself to build a barge because I hate the idea of mining so much. :-P

Anyone long story short, I could use some newbie friends too to make the game more interesting.

You sound like a PvPer. get some cheap ships and PvP. You could:
Try faction warfare
Try RvB
Try one of the large null sec alliances that has a new player corp
Try Eve Uni
Try to find a smaller null sec corp that takes new players.
buy 50 T1 frigs fit them cheap and commit to loosing them in one weekend
Talk to people that blow you up when loosing those 50 frigs until you find a good corp.

Most corps that have a skill point minimum honestly are to keep out spys or reduce corp theft than because they care about your skill points. Having a skill point minimum sets an expense cost that must be reached for experience players looking to create alts and act like new players. I only mention this so that you understand that most corps / players in eve don't actually care about your skill points. It's just the safety concerns that your lack of opens them up to.

Hi there,

I'm in one of Brave Collective's active industrial, mining, PI, Explorer, pvp, etc. etc. corps. And we're in Fountain (null sec) at the moment setting up a new home around a NPC null base. We literately do just about everything in the game on a daily basis. If you want to find out more simply join the "Bovril NEW" channel in game.

We also have quite a few other corporations and alliances in HERO in general who do their own mining, exploration and industry.

Someone mentioned the Wormhole Corporations. We have three main ones at the moment. Dropbears Anonymous, Desolate Order and a corp they run between the two of them specifically geared to getting really new people into wormholes from the C1-C3 side. Dropbears also run their Stahp fleets for alliance members into C5's.

Most of HERO posts on the Brave Reddit.

The Imperium and PL also have Karmafleet and Pandemic Horde who cater to new people joining. Not sure what PH do for posting but Karmafleet also have a Reddit page you can ask around at. From what I've heard PL are more focused on PVP though. Karmafleet allows you into the other focus groups inside the Imperium coalition (they were called Goons or CFC before).

Eve University have campuses in High, Low, Null and WH space. More formal culture. We had regular set-piece battles with them earlier this year to develop FC's. Their wiki page is widely recognized as being superior to the CCP one. Although some of the original material hasn't been updated of late and the Eve Survival pages seem to have dropped.

I would not in all honesty suggest High Sec mining anymore. Definitely not in a corp. And probably not even for long in any NPC corp. In null or spooky space you at least know for sure the bad guys are there with hostile intent. None of this war deck nonsense and deliberate trolling. You can organize a fleet and shoot them down then carry on.
