The new Opportunities tab.

The new Opportunities tab is a nice new feature.. save from one not so minor detail:

It. Seemingly. Cannot. Be. Removed.

To whom it may concern, please make it optional under the Experimental Features, like the new star map.

It is a nice tool for beginners but it is just unnecessary screen clutter for veteran eggers.

Turns out that unless you choose "dismiss" in that first conversation bubble with Aura after you log in, the Opportunities tab becomes a permanent fixture on your HUD.

And now it just sits there.. mocking me.. like some sort of an incurable digital STD.

edit. Thank Jove.. that **** drops off when you zone.

You saying it goes away after a system change? Please let it be so. Last thing I need is more crap on my screen that I cant change, move or get rid of.

At the top, 3 butons - (one is solar system, other is route, next is oportunitys), press it. goes away, like the rest of the UI has worked for a very long time... ;-) The 3 you are looking for are directly above that left hand "display" that shows route and current solar system.

also you can turn route info on and off there etc.

"vet egger" indeed...

The whole thing seem like a waste of time and resources to me. I don't think Eve needs or will benefit from having an achievement system.QuestionQuestionQuestionQuestionQuestionQuestionQuestion

That actually doesn't turn any of them off, it just minimizes them. What we have is a growing stack of information with no ability to "turn off" any of it.

Which turns off notifications, NOT the info bar at top left. Luckily however it does seem to go away on it's own once you enter space which is at least something. (It does return however once you've re-docked, at least that's what I'm seeing.)

I got rid of the bar completely by clicking the (dimmed) shield icon above the local system name, at the very top of the upper left info area.

I did that on my client. It minimized itself like the System Info and Route tabs do... And then I changed systems and it popped back up again...

At this point I had come to understand what true fear is. Cry

Oh, sorry. It doesn't pop back out for me. Clicked once, gone, and I did fly around a few systems.

It actually stopped. Might've been a minor bug seeing as two of the opportunities were changing star systems and moving to the next system in a route. (Which had already shown up as being completed)

Hasn't popped up since, so. /shrug

Young people today have more opportunities than they realize. My grandson James once told me that he wanted to go to school to become a photographer. I was confused because to me, if thats what you want to be, then all you need is a camera! But apparently there are classes that will help you go into that field. When I was younger it easy to work on the farm because it was something you did growing up. But now a days you can go into any university and get a degree in farming or farm work and have never actually lived on a farm! I had a friend down the hall named Tim. He worked on a farm and he told me a lot about all of this. Jim moved a few years back. He was on a waiting list to go to a home that is closer to town. I think it helps with his family visiting. I miss him though. Tom's a good guy.
