Reporting breathlessly from Jita 4-4, where I have sold an absolutely absurd volume of SKINs from many different sources for completely unreasonable prices all morning:

People want these SKINs and are more than willing to pay the price.

CCP has done a good job.

I personally don't like the seemingly randomness in pricing.. a Myrm Syndicate SKIN costs half what the Vexor Syndicate Skin does.. huh? Hell some Cruiser skins cost half as much as others.. The prices should be more consistant. Also, I hate how the prices have NO relevance to the package of Aurum available for sale.

The way to do it is make Tiers, Frig, Dessy, Cruiser/Barge, BC, BS, Cap/Freighter/Orca, Super, with set price points, and Aurum packages that evenly go into all of them.

Also, as I've said before in the other threads.. I think many of these skins should be made available in LP Stores, mission rewards, Drops, and (one time) rewards for standings. Even if the LP ones are for silly amounts it would at least allow them to be gained in game without having to pay $$$.. Hell even if they aren't perma.. I see 1 year skins in the DB, I'd use LP for a 1 year skin.. 30 days is more like BS, but a year is a solid amount.

The ship skins didnt suck who knows how much time and money away from fixing or improving the rest of the game. The same can't be said for Incarna.

Pretty sure the art team is limited in the scope of what they can accomplish...

30 bucks is nothing for a skin that lasts a lifetime.
And no one is forced to pay money for it.

OP sounds like she deliberately wants to cause an issue.

Take a look at the current market and you will see some permanent skins go for less than 50m iskies, 30 day skins for only a fraction of that even.

If you want to buy some of the new ones, which CCP just released today, the cheaper ones are only ~2-3$ actually. Nobody forces you to buy the expensive ones or get skins at all, mind you.

Perhaps I would like reasonable prices so that I could part with my money.

Why does people arguing for lower prices bother you so much?

CCP gave 5500 aurum to every active account.

Am I the only one that saved some?

If CCP can make money on this venture and if they can reinvest that money back into the game, win win. Team Fortress 2 and DOTA2 are games that thrive on a F2P model with P2Cosmetics. I would love to see EvE on a similar model, and I'm a guy who spends money on cosmetics.

I think they could have "tiered" the SKINs into classes a bit better, but time will tell.

I thought after all this hoopla for the new ship skins, CCP would actually have enough skins for Caldari Ships to release that were not puke green, or Minmatar-brown/red ad at least had one for each class. I was was wrong. I am perplexed why someone would by a Caldari skin, they look horrible.
