Devs refusing to uphold the EULA?

Under the EULA, section 2B states that:

"No player may use the character name of another player to impersonate or falsely represent his or her identity."

In my last few days of playing, a player has flaunted this rule and spammed my old corporation, impersonating both an alliance executor and a friend of mine, to the point that their routine activities were disrupted by it.

So, like a good butthurt bastard, I filed a petition to the developers and game moderators or whoever deals with the problems (on another character). Four days on; nothing. Not a sausage. Either this has slipped between the cracks, or those responsible for stuff like this are just ignoring it.

Could I get some clarity or finalisation on this? All wanting to see this bastard get punished aside, it'd be quite nice to know that either the EULA is an empty threat from the game or that CCP are in fact doing their jobs.

Or it takes a long time for CCP to respond to petitions, though I understand your frustration in wanting this taken care of immediately.

4 days or more for such a minor issue would be fairly typical response time when they are busy... and currently they are very busy.

Multiple bug fix patches going out after a major update, large number of petitions from people that somehow missed being notified to pick out their Christmas gifts, and being short staffed to begin with due to the holiday's.

Just be patient, they'll get to you as quickly as possible.

Oh, they probably hate you, they just aren't purposefully ignoring you. Big smile

Kidding... they'll take good care of you.

IIRC, RMT is one of the top-tier queues.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

You should get a reply, but it might take time due to Christmas.

If it's an alt on a Goon acct, don't expect a reply or action. Since they don't enforce the EULA with them.

Hi ElQuirko,

Yes, your petition is in the queue and a GM will get to it as soon as possible. I cannot give you a specific date or time when this will happen but you are not being ignored Smile

Some of my pay-the-bills work involves tech support to a certain degree and we have to choose a queue approach or a triage approach.

One of the worst things I have to deal with are Third Party support services and I pray that nobody who has to support a product ever has to deal with it. Basically a 3rd party support service is like hiring your own tech support, but that tech support has to go to the "real" tech support for whatever the product is.

Being a service industry, it has to look important to the client, the client needs to really feel like they are doomed without the service.

So I will get a call from this 3rd party service - and I never make people wait on hold - and I find I am in a conference call with our original client, and the 3rd party service, and the 3rd party service is talking like "we finally got them on the phone and can finally get this (insert horror and death problem that is actually quite easy to fix here) resolved right now!!!1!!". It's as if we have to be chased down in the street or they found us in the local pub refusing to do our jobs.

Pray that some knucklehead does not get some bright idea to put some 3rd party services between the customers and the support.

In the meantime, I guess that at least half of the petitions are so full of incoherent semi-autistic nerd rage that the people reading them are either laughing or crying to the point of being slowed down. Am I right?
