I have noticed plex prices have began rising in anticipation of returning pilots (SKINS!) and would like to impart some of my experiences buying and selling plex.

I have noticed that before a major patch (SKINS!!!) plex prices will begin sky rocketing into the 850s, even 900s. I believe this to be largely speculative movement (investors).

Once a patch hits the prices rise even faster. I suspect this is because consumers (returning pilots buying plex to resub) begin dipping supply.

Approximately 10 days after a big patch hits (almost like clockwork) ccp hosts a plex sale. The market floods with plex and prices rapidly crash within only a few days.

However, once the prices crash investors begin purchasing again and choke the supply unbelievably thin and the plex sale ends. At this point prices hit huuuuuge values but only for a very short time.

The profit opportunities are a couple weeks before a patch (invest).
A few days before the patch hits (sell).
A few days after the 10day-post-patch plex sale crashes the market (invest).
Approximately 1week after the plex sale ends and the supply chokes (sell, FAST).


Be aware that these are in no way definitive facts, and you should always use your best judgement when investing regardless of what others say.

This is, however, how i was able to make a couple billion during patches, with a very small amount of isk invested into plex (~15bil).

That would be reasonable, Koniforous. But we already have a thread on plex in this very forum.

That's a lot of effort and capital for 10%

And here I am, working my ass off for 10% in Zydrines.
