How many data/relic cans need to be cleared?

Data/relic sites are IMHO pretty useless, except for farming the spawn and if a Talocan can shows up.

The rest of the time, they just sit there cluttering my probe scanner for days.

I was wondering if I could speed it up so that they clear with the next DT if I pop a can or two. Does that work?

They used to despawn if you left field after touching any of the cans but this is going back a long time (like, mags and radars long time).
Not sure if that's still how they work.

As I tend to just farm the spawns I can not verify really as hacking was defenitely never worth the time, but I think it's enough to hack one can and Site will be gone after 4 hours or even one hour as soon as sleepers are cleared as well?

one can is enough and it will despawn in 1 hour if no rats on field

Why not just right-click and hit "ignore" to all the sigs that match what you have on Tripwire/Siggy?

If you kill all rats and warp away, its gone from your probe scanner immediately.
Just did it yesterday, in a C2, with a relic site. Never touched the cans.

How long it lingers afterwards, i dont know.

OK, I'm testing it. I have had this data site in my hole for days, today I killed all the rats and popped one can. I'll let you know when it decays.

Well, it's gone. About an hour later. Didn't wait till downtime.

So, you just need to pop one can, and the site will decay in an hour.

what do you mean "farm them" half do them and they respawn after down time or something?

I only farm the rats. Kill all the rats and loot/salvage them. I don't enjoy the minigame, and the can loot is terrible.

That only works with Relic sites, not the Data ones.
