A couple of questions re purchasing equipment

Hello,
I am flying teh tutorial missions and was given a Small Shield Booster to help keep my shields topped up. A couple of missions later that item is gone. I have no ide where it went but never mind - I had a look at the market and bought another one. I'm not entirely sure how I then take delivery of the item. The money has left my account so the purchase has gone through but I'm not sure about picking up the item. Do I need to travel to the location it was for sale in? If so, could anyone please tell me how I collect the item?

When you buy an item off the market it does not get shipped to you. It is placed in your hangar in whatever station it was purchased in. If that station happens to be 12 jumps away, you need to go fetch it - this is why you can sort by distance in the market window. It is also for this reason that 'trade hubs' exist - single stations where people congregate to buy and sell. Jita IV M4 is the biggest example, but there are regional hubs everywhere, like in Rens and Hek for minmatar space.

Check the assets window (Looks like a safe on the left sidebar) for a complete listing of all of your property in all stations. You should fine your original small shield booster somewhere in here (unless it's in your ship's cargo or anything), as well as the new one you purchased.
