Hello
I have a small question can you make some ISK with gate camping?
Me and my frend are skilling for Tornado and we are hoping that we can make some good ISK per hour.
Is it possible?
We will be in Low or in HS.

Yes.
Where are you planning to stage?

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Station camping with 'nados is much less risky than gates (especially alone or in a very small gang) and the right station can be a lot more profitable. Most of your good targets will be people warping to zero on the station so keep that in mind when picking a good camping spot. As well as someplace you can't be tackled from the undock before you warp out.

You can; there are always idiots who transport expensive stuff in defenseless ships. The game kinda sets it up that way.

Your income depends on how many juicy targets you kill, and that depends on how high the traffic is through your gate (or as suggested, at your station). Best spots are, of course, the pipelines between the 4 major trading hubs, or the undock points of the trading hubs, but realize that you will have competition there from other people trying to do the same thing, and they may attack you to drive you out.

Otherwise, you also need to deal with the issue of sec. standings, as your attacks will likely be suicide ganks and your sec. will go down to the point where you won't be able to "camp" anymore.

Also, it's not as simple as just training for the DPS ships. You need scouts along the pipe with the passive target lock modules and fast locking ships to scan the prey so you can pick the juicy and not waste your sec. status on no loot, you need tacklers, decloakers (interceptor), and possibly bumpers, you need the guy who's going to loot the wreck (industrial ship), and then the DPS.

Ok thx alot
And so until some point when my sec status is still good i can camp?

Security status effects.

Salvage will probably not be worth the effort in highsec. You're trying to hit ships that have 100 million - billions in cargo, not grind NPCs at 50k a pop. You may get ONE such ship per evening, maybe none, but if you do it will obviously be worth killing.

In lowsec, you may be destroying everything that passes through, but that will get to you to -10.0 sec. rating pretty fast. May need a salvager there.

Just a note to insure you are prepared.

If you shoot someone in high sec YOU WIlL LOSE your ship Concordoeken will make sure of that so plan for these loses and be sure to account for them in your profit/loss equations.

Its very rare you will find an offline pos with stuff inside it. If you do find one you can kill storage arrays with pretty much anything, they're very fragile.

Active poses will requiire more than two people unless it's entirely undefended and also nobody logs on to.defend it. Also control towers have hundreds of thousands to millions of hp so 2 People will be hours if not days of shooting.

poses usually require a wardec and a couple of hours , now thats with people.

solo pos tear downs will probably take days

I was wondering why IDLE got a wardec a few weeks back, it was from a one man corp, and the dude was pretty much always offline. Then a killmail showed up in the war report. a solo oracle did 5.6million damage to take out an offline small pos. although someone on twitter likes to find abandoned pos with structures and wardec and see what drops, and has posted some very juicy killmails.

As for gate camping, well for a while I did make isk doing it. it wasn't very steady or reliable though. Mostly relied on ships full of shiny loot coming in which used to happen surprisingly often. Ihakana was an awesome spot to camp as it is part of the caldari COSMOS constellation so people would bring their mission boats in and give us free loot. It also helped that a corpmate would give good rates on GTCs. These days it seems that much cheaper fits can be effective, so I have no idea how good the kills are now. Just looked.... idiots are still bringing super pimp ships in. Most other systems probably aren't as good. I would look for bottleneck systems, or systems that are on empire -> null pipelines. and of course check out highsec trade routes, plenty of isk to be made ganking haulers.
