Sounds like you need to find a bot to play the game for you mate......

A life is best lived, to not step into your grave in a well preserved body. Instead, to slide in side ways, all battered and bruised, screamming, "Holy SH**! What a ride!"

My gut reaction is, NO!

But, then, with some caveats, it might help.

1) if it takes 10x longer to scan this way than the normal way, it's not so bad. Of course, people will set it going and then go watch a movie, but if they can't cloak while using this module, that's extra pew. Perhaps even put them on the overview!

2) it would bring larger NS/HS/LS groups (who can't be bothered to scan) to WH space, and that's extra pew.

You came to the wrong forum, son; with your ideas of change.

Your kind ain't welcome round these here parts.

QFT. But having said that, this idea is really bad. Why bother having signatures at all?

Again, I was just thinking to lessen some of the monotony when scanning though WH chains, nothing more.

Sig strength and astrometrics skills still play there rolls; if you couldn't scan it before, you wouldn't scan with this. It would be exactly the same as if you scanned the system really slowly, just you don't have to pay the same attention to it.

People are probably right that it's just a means to be lazy. I just think it gets old really quickly when scanning one dead WH after another, where I could set this going, focus on another toon for 20 minutes, and then alt-tab back to finish the job.

I really just didn't think people would be this opposed to the idea.

I will accept this as long as it makes your ship unable to cloak, jump, shoot or even move; and the process takes significantly longer than doing it manually.

Realy, you sudjest a methode that makes even less people be active in wormhole space . Where it already is hard to find people active .
And you do not expect opposition to the proposal?

It is simpel, scanning has pilots active and in space. You can detect them by watching holes and looking for probes on d-scan.
Seeing people active makes people active trying to catch them.
And that is what would be lost by this proposal.

No local in null sec would fix everything!

I am surprised a unimatrix can't spell to save his life. Like, did #2 or #24 or #17 take the spell check function with him when you unsubbed all those accounts because IS Boxer got banned?

This brings back the idea of the System Scanning Array and/or Mobile Scanning Unit...
TBH I would love it! Also I need some mechanic to bring NPC under controll and make em doing the ISK grinding for me so I can concentrate on PvP.

OMG I had no idea I needed to be working on my jump shot........while wearing a cloak......

but seriously, being lazy has ushered in no small number of human advancements over the centuries, so i would give you (OP) a pass on your motivation. Yet, I have to say PLEASE do NOT take this to Features and Ideas, because someone in CCP may accidently think this is a good idea and pass it on up the line.

High sec: That's the tutorial. Null Sec is the actual game. Wormholes? Even CCP isn't sure.

It might be ok if its deployable, that cant be deployed anywhere near anything else (like a POS), has long cycle time (like an hour), cannot be scooped while its running, has no RF, and generates a juicy killmail. Or maybe whoever deploys it cannot move out until its done or dead, like a cyno.

So yeah, be super-lazy, but at a risk. Definitely no autoscanning from a POS or while cloaked.

Half of EVE content is behind the most boring and tedious mini-game in the history of MMOs ever - it's great shame and the reason why I never do (did) WHs and exploration activities + I'll never go to low/null sec while this abomination of mini-games (scanning) is required to be done every couple seconds.

I'll return to EVE (maybe) when there will be automated scanning. Till then I'm in ED - there I have automated basic system scan and audiovisual warnings about me being scanned by someone else.
