I'm not a market person so I'm asking for those who are, to enlighten me as to what has happened.

I like Amarr ships, and especially the Omen line. So, over time, I've idly added a few hulls to my hanger just for the sake of doing so. I know collecting is NOT a foreign concept around these parts.

Today I went to update a market order I had for the Omen Kador. It's the one I've really wanted the most due to it being my favorite colors on my favorite hull - what's not to like! But apparently something drastic happened within EvE because when I originally placed my buy order in Amarr 80 days ago, Omen Kadors were being traded at around 20 million a piece. Of course I put in a buy order slightly less than that and let it ride. Well, 80 days later and nobody sold to me, so okay, I'll either up the buy order price or just buy one outright.

So I check the market when I get there and...WTF? Somehow the EvE marketplace has decided that these ornamental ships are now worth over 10 times their original price. I'm seeing sell orders for over 200 mil, and buy orders at 150. That's a long way past the "crazy" line.

Players determine the market, I'm not here to debate or bellyache about that really. I'm just here to ask what happened to these ships that suddenly upped their price? Did someone discover that the Kador paintjob is somehow the kryptonite to Ishtars?

As for the Omen Kadors, they will be worth 471 mil nominally after the patch.
