Over 1 billion isk for a merlin skin!!

Thats like what 25-30$ real life for a freaking frigate skin? There are a lot that are more than 1 plex too. You need to buy plex with real money then like use conversion rate of like dual training cert or something but yeah holy ******* **** bro.

Monocal?? $1000 jeans? Anyone remember?

Long live the $30 merlin, the $25 kestrel... lmao wow MACROtransactions if i ever seen em dudes

You tell me. People are using the same arguments they did during the monoclegate, except now expensive is suddenly good. Tell me why?

I already said why. These are for spaceships, and not space Barbies. That is the major difference.

There's no difference.
You are looking at this too superficially.

The skins are for those who like to be immersed ...
... and those who feed their ego with it.

Same exact thing with the monocle and stuff when they came out.

They pay.

If you have doubt, go check f2p forums.

Besides that I'm sure prices will go down.

In any case just do as I do.

Find someone who donates a skin ...
... in exchange for showing him some pixelskins..... *snickers xD

you are whining against this too? What?

if you are poor, you are NOT supposed to be bothered with this.

i support CCP's micro transaction (if they sell cosmetics ONLY) and help EvE survive another 10 more years.

Another ignorant. Ccp can survive another 10years without these macrotransactions!!! They survived the past decade without.

This money is to be funneled into Virtual Reality and Legion and Valkyrie, you blind?

Last time with Monocalgate and 1000$ jeans the money was going to Worl Of Darkness and the Character creator technology and Dust.

They are taking the money from macrotransactions and funneling it OUT OF EVE OUT. So no survive decade argument

.

This is very true. My point was more aimed toward why I don't expect to see the backlash to this that we saw with the aforementioned system.
Oh, and it probably helps that the game isn't a smoking heap of problems this time.

lol how naive. Roll

dude, could you really stop CCP from developing another game?

so what do you prefer, using the subscription of EvE to develop another game or the micro-transaction from EvE to develop another game?

besides, since how long is the subscription fee of $15/month to EvE has been like that?

unless they increase the subscription fee after some time or poeple in CCP doesn't need wage increase or their operation expenses like electricity bills, office rent, etc don't change, i guess you are right, they'll survive another 10 more years. lewl. Roll

So with these prices I'm guessing the planned fully custom skins mentioned at fanfest will cost upwards of 10k AUR

No offense Misses Ann,

but asking for trading tips and than coming up with "I understand economies" is a bit odd isn´t it? :)

The "it´s worth XX $" argument is nice to read and always good as a catch phrase but it´s not really true. You can have trillions in ISK without spending real money on plex to re-sell the plex and get the money. Otherwise, you can spend real money on plex to re-sell it and be fine. 25$ for a Merlin skin? Well, that´s not even an hour of work in real life not even close. So yeh, why not buy it? When money is not the bottleneck time is. When time is no bottleneck money is - usually. So no matter what it´s no problem to make the ISK to buy the skin if you want the skin. And not to forget, at the end of the day all the people who spend real money on CCP keep the mashine fuelled. You can buy plex because people sell the stuff so "you" can play the game without spending real money.
If it´s worth the price is totally subjective. Some people spent hundreds and thousands of $$$ on World of Tanks, Dota2/CS/TF² cosmetics and are happy with it.

Oh yeah! I remember.

Personally I'd pay another $60 or whatever if I could get a ship skin that had a holographic monocle mounted on the front where its "face" should be. It'll help me to further stand out against the sea of plebeians in their ripped rags and rusted out ships.

To the common man: You don't need a chain if you can't make it rain. Lol

Why are you saying this like it's a bad thing?

Legion = DUST on PC, with way more content.
Valkyrie = one of the single most intense and enjoyable games I've ever played in my life.

I think I will be buying a couple of these overpriced SKINs, afterall, now that you put it that way.

Please be aware that the current beautiful designs for the Quafe skinned ships including the Dominix, Tristan, & Vexor are planned to be changed to dull blue pale wash designs in the new SKIN system. I have commented there on this and the change to the engines on all ships which are also going to be changed to a poor design and am awaiting a response from CCP.

The quafe skins look super cool. People will want them. buy them, apply them, and the supply will steadily go down.

In a year, I expect you will see people whining on the forums because they want cool quafe SKINs but nobody can afford them, and asking CCP to release them in the game or make them available for sale again.

Love,

You mean a response from an actual CCP Dev regarding your concerns that the ships in the web preview look different that ships in game?

Nah, that'll never happen. (hint: This is actually a link to where exactly that happened)
