What were you expecting conflict between players to look like?

It ranges from gigantic space battles to petty backstreet crime. You just have to remember that dodixie is literally Mos Eisley.

You can't log off safely in space if you're being targetted. Your ship will continue to sit in space until they un-target you and the 30 second countdown timer completes. Blink

I don't think she is saying to safe logoff, just to logoff.

She will emergency warp and remain in space for 1 minute without any other timer.

Plenty of time to scan the ship and agress it with a rookie ship if one is ready and it seems like a head in the sand approach (ship loses bonuses gained from the pilots skills, cannot activate any modules, cannot do anything at all), but it probably works in many situations.

He would better understand if ...

... he had the stories of hundreds of people, readable, like a book.
... he himself actually had any friends who do anything worth talking about.

The former exists in a huge amount of blogs ...
... and the latter doesn't.

Avoid moving between chock points during Prime Times. x10 on Weekends.

Most of those things will help you out, but it's all chance. If someone wants to hold you there they can, if they want to gank you they can, etc. All that can be done is mitigating the risk by flying safe :)

Isn't there some rig that makes you literally web yourself?

Higgs Anchor, yes.

-55% Inertia.
100% Mass.
-75% Velocity.

This + Low Friction Nozzle Joints will make even a Bowhead pretty speedy, and bump resistant against smaller ships. Might still have difficulties with Machariels though.

This mechanic is rather infantile, especially when being used on ships that can pass through planets.
Is there something in Iceland's water that causes chronic arrested development? Always with something a child can do.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

Just remove the necessity of alignment as a requirement of warp drive. Retain the spin up timer, regulated by skills, implants or fit. There is no aerodynamics in space.

Bumping - one bad mechanic, webbing into warp another bad mechanic - Eve proving two wrongs can make a right.

If the new $20 ship skins made you immune to being bumped by neutral ships - they might be worth the price.

Jita undock.

For some reason RL big chokepoints (markets? airports? ...) have no such problem even using RL mechanics when 'bumping hurts'....

But yeah, in CCPs Eve Online "when bumping makes damage it will blow all the Jita undock"

I love how when there's a mechanic at play people don't like, they blame CCP's inability to fix a non-existent problem.

Well.. Its kind of an agression from one character to another character with both parties being neutral, without any CONCORD intervention. I can understand how that's an issue.

Pretty sure IRL if I randomly and willingly run into(bump) people with a bike(MWD), I'm gonna get POLICEd(CONCORDed).

Such a bad mechanic really its like trying to stop a van from moving by smashing a car into it.... wouldnt work in real life so should work in the game its unfair and i think they should crack down on this.

Except there is no friction nor gravity in space. Smash the van with a car that has an mwd and in space, you now have Physics 1. Put a shield on them and voila it works just like ingame.

I think if people are deadset on comparing real life to game they should compare apple to apples instad of apples to oranges.

If there weren't gravity in space the universe would fall apart. And friction is also just some force that slows velocity; the difference to gravity is just the geometrical definition.
And when the two ships/cars crash into each other there is definitely friction in play, even if you have shields. Macroscopically frictionless collision is just a theoretical approximation of reality. Except for collisions between elementary particles you always loose some energy in collisions and thus velocity.

I suggest you self destruct your ship every time someone bumps into you.

That'll increase realism and immersion. :)

Bumping takes players away from the immersive science fiction experience that is what Eve wants to be. It is not so much the consequence that is an issue (not being able to warp by lack of alignment), but the silly display of bowling with spaceships...

imho, it is one of the remaining dinosaurs and should be revisited. I am not saying that there should not be any neutral way to prevent a ship from aligning, even in high sec, but it should be a way that makes more sense and looks better from a sci-fi experience point of view.
