Proteus: Wake Limiter VS Localized Injectors

So I open EFT and fIt Proteus with just subs and Republic Fleet 10MN MWD.

WL: 1263 m/s with 756 sig which gives us 1.67 STS ratio.

LI: 1600 m/s with 953 sig and 1.68 STS ratio.

Cynabal has 2.77 for instance.

So were those 5% for the WL taken by random or did you calculate the subsystem to be worse intentionally, CCP?

I foresee your actions and say that even a 7.5% wouldn't be enough to compensate for such loss of speed over Injectors.

Wake Limiter is useless, use Localized Injectors. Always.

5% reduction per level against 500% bloom = not enough.

Math... How does it work?

^Even if it''s a 25% reduction it's not worth it when you get webbed. Or if you simply can't catch up with stuff and take extra punishment for that,

Well lets make it simple.

Base speed with mwd on and regular pvp fit, both don't have much more than 1.5m of cap.

One scratches paint at 20km with crap T2 ammo(long range), the other puts the misery on you at over 30km and never misses you(shortest range ammo, the one with more dps).

One with the dedicated sub disrupt over 35km but can't catch the other that can disrupt you at 30km (faction point), either base speed either mwd on either OH MWD.

One can carry 75m3 of drones if it has the dedicated sub and the other can carry enough drones to ECM or kill the first one drones.

Same pvp experience, related skills "equal" status. Cyna wins, unless specific situation.

1 Proteus full T2 fitted, more or less 700M without implants/boosters?

1 Cynabal with some faction stuff is about 300M

I pick the cyna for twice the fun and twice the cances of getting/wining fights and the ability of GTFO without your permission.

I just wish the proteus wasn't butt ugly with any config. Gallente are supposed to be about beauty, why do they have the ugliest t3?

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

CPU Efficiency Gate looks awesome though it's useless Sad

And please ppl don't turn it into Winmatar QQ thread.

The point is that 1 sub system is intentionally made worse than the other while they should've been only different.

You've seen the Tengu "power core multiplier", right? With a bonus that gives extra powergrid? Yeah...it has the LEAST powergrid of EVERY T3 SUBSYTEM.

Of all the Tengu engineering subsystems, the capacitor regeneration matrix is by far the best. It has more capacitor than the "augmented capacitor reservoir" and more powergrid than the "power core multiplier". The only reason to use these two other subs is for the extra launcher or turret hardpoint.

There are indeed some math issues going on at CCP...

A lot of T3 subsystems need rebalancing, I suspect that Tengu powergrid sub is deliberate though, the magnetic infusion basin (the one no one uses) actually also gives a powergrid bonus, when combined it has the power grid for rails (perhaps not enough still), I imagine it is designed so that the missile versions using it don't have massive powergrids.

My choice subsystems for rebalancing: -

Wake limiter (double the bonus and add the Thorax cap benefit bonus)

CPU efficiency Gate (5m3 and 5 Drone bay/ bandwidth per level)

Adaptive Augmenter (Range and cap bonus please)

Dissonic Encoding platform (tracking bonus just isn't the same as the ability to field drones, 6 guns or small light drones or better optimal as well anything really)

Supplemental Coolant injector (Prob needs +100 powergrid and tweak the bonus a provide another bonus as well)

Augmented Capacitor Resevoir (-1H +1M)

A lot of other T3 subs also need rebalancing, the Legion thread had a few good ideas regarding this but T3 logi should be at least viable, Tengu Rail platform should be better, Drone Legion, Ham legion probably deserve better treatment.

Yes why can't the proteus have the sleek good looks of the Domininx or the Brutix?

proteus looks sweet.
if you want to see a butt ugly t3, go fit out a loki.

That's compensatated by the Rail offensive Sub which gives extra PG.
