I need a new mic

Hi guys,

Few days ago my headset died a horrible death. For no reason, one of the speakers isn't working anymore. This is not as bad as it seems, because I've been thinking about a new mic for weeks.

So I'd want a good quality mic that I could plug on USB or classical headset socket, without adding anything to my PC. I need something with a better sound quality than usual headset mic, with low wind noises and good fidelity. But I know nothing about audio hardware, and that's why I'm asking you some advices.

I can't spend much (less than 100 €) and I don't need a headset, just a mic to put on my desktop.

Got a Zalman ZMMIC1 microphone personally that I bought a while ago. Costs like £7 on UK Amazon and sound quality is better than large majority of the headsets I have used in my lifetime, including some of the $/€200+ ones. It's not a desktop mic, but there's a clip so you can attach it to your shirt collar or headphone wire.

It is a little quiet though, and you need to boost the receive volume from your audio settings a bit.

If you especially need one that sits on your desk, I have heard good things of Blue Microphones' Snowball brand. They are a little pricier though, but still sub 100€.
