The problem we all see, but nobody seems to be talking about.

A foreign nation has attacked us. There are warships within our systems, above the skies of our homes. Warships that have the power to incinerate all but the strongest ships we have to bring against them. An enemy that can adapt to our tactics much quicker than we have seen others do so.

Us capsuleers, some of the most powerful exemplars of our races, are being swatted out of the skies.

Why aren't more of us talking about this?

I question the wisdom of our respective militias, some of the most powerful extensions of our Empire's military, when we seemingly ignore now another threat invading the borders of all of our empires. We continue to fight against eachother when there's a threat to all of us that's liable to open within any constellation regardless of who owns it.

I'm not calling for all out peace. I'm far from arrogant enough to presume anyone would listen to me if I started on with that. What I am proposing though, is that we at least open up a dialog between the leading corporations, alliances and coalitions of our respective militias, so that we can at least have the option to co-ordinate with eachother in the case of these Drifters launching an all-out attack.

I've got a bad feeling that doing nothing, or taking measures separately and not collectively, will cause a lot of civilian lives to be lost where they otherwise wouldn't have to be.

Because most capsuleers have the attention span of a furrier.

The new hot topic is apparently some lunatic who thinks he should be the next Amarrian emperor.

I live in a system with a structure-thingy in it, and I haven't seen a single drifter. They may be super powerful, but the fact is there just aren't that many of them. Certainly not enough to cause a widespread panic.

Last I heard these things only shoot capsuleers stupid enough to shoot them. Doesn't seem too much like an invasion anymore.

They don't look too aggressive to me!
If they are indeed these sleepers, it were capsuleers who invaded their homes, seekers came first unarmed, and only capsuleer attacks made them to carry their weapons. As of yet, neither seekers nor drifters attack us.

You've somehow missed all the threads over the last few months regarding Caroline's Star. the Unidentified Structures = Jove Observatories and now the Circadian Seekers and Drifters.

I would suggest you search for these topics and then read through all the collective information.

There has been and continues to be plenty discussion of the issues within the Arek'Jaalan science community as well as the faction militias. Some proposals are peaceful, some mixed in nature, some quite violent.

You know, I have expressed naked hostility towards the Amarr Empire several times throughout my career. I have shot down slaver fleets in Republic and Gallentean space. My own personal kill-count of Amarr Navy personnel is probably somewhere in the thousands, and millions of tonnes of ship.

And yet I am still allowed to fly heavily-armed warships around Amarr space. Even above Amarr Prime itself.

I can even haul into low orbit above Dam-Torsad and nobody shows up to stop me. Sure, they may be entirely confident that my pod's lockouts will prevent me from firing an OB without groundside assistance, but how do they know I lack such assistance? How can they be certain I haven't found a way to negate the failsafes and lockouts in my capsule? You would think at minimum that a naval frigate would show up and EWAR me, just to be on the safe side.

Maybe they just know I wouldn't actually do it? Maybe they know something I don't?

Maybe I'm surrounded by cloaked ships that are ready to pounce the instant my guns point in the wrong direction?

Who can tell?

From what I have gathered they actually are aggressive, but defensively so.

I have personally, as well as have seen others, fly close to them with no response. Yet when you get close to something they are interested in they will proactively defend it. Primarily, the Jovian Observatories and the "stable" wormholes they create.

I have heard originally that the observatories might have been put in place to observe us. Later I heard that the observatories might actually be linked together in a cluster sized array. Something that large would be needed to monitor something far away. Like Anoikis.

Whatever the purpose of the structures, the purpose of the invaders is clear now.

The Seekers are collecting information and seeking Jovian tech.

The Drifters are harvesting Jovian tech and Jovian implant compatible biomass.

The Directorate is dead. The Drifters are waking up. They are rebuilding. I don't know if they are currently a threat. But given our current trajectory, conflict will be inevitable. And to those who say we are already under attack, I think you underestimate the Drifters. The treatment we are getting shows we are barely enough to he noticed right now.

Edit: Also Kala, there have been Drifters in Las. They only stick around for a while. If your sensors detect their wormhole generation, which is an extremely strong signal every ship can detect, than there are Drifters about.

Are 'we' being invaded? or are we just a stepping stone to a higher conflict?

are the seekers/drifters allied to the jove or are they seeking tec to fight them?

The latest rumor I have heard for the drifters is that they are a faction of Jove that were infected with the disease, but not killed by it - cast out so they did not infect the rest of the Jovians, yet driven truly mad by the disease and now hell bent on exacting revenge for their eons spent in the wilderness.

Who is observing whom? The jove gave up meddling with the 'monkeys' (as they see us in a developmental capacity) centuries ago. If the jove wanted to attack the empires, they could, and there is nothing we could do to stop them. they are way ahead of us developmentally.

why would the Jovians decide to return to our space now, unless it was out of the need to protect their own empire from being invaded.

I believe this is not our war, though we may be caught up in its effects. If we can stay out of it, its going to be one hell of a fireworks display to watch!!
