That's right. it set a bad precedent, every time something happen people expected something for free. CCP had the best intentions there, but were just a little short sighted in not understanding that EVE players are advantage seekers (well, not just EVE player,s human in general) and giving against policy is a really bad thing.

I've stopped raging out at the "gimmie gimmies" since last Christmas... it's just not worth my energy anymore.
I am glad to see they've slowed down a might. And I'm even more glad we don't get showered with free SP every time some Lizard Squad kid decides to DDoS us then tell Twitter how "uber leet hax" he is.

Personally, I've appreciated every gift item CCP has ever dropped me. Not expected, by any means, but still appreciated.
I'd honestly be fine with it if they stopped giving gifts altogether, or just gave us each a random avatar item from now on.

The 'gimme gimme gimme' christmas threads are just ******* awful. To think that there are that many grown *** men/women out there who act like spoiled children around the holidays frankly turns my stomach.

Whats worse, is that when CCP does give us stuff, the 'gimmies' turn around and instead of saying 'Thank you CCP!' they go 'WTF CCP??!?! IS THIS IT? WHERES MAI OP AS HELL SHIP? WHERES MY SUPER LEET MODS/IMPLANTS?!?!?!? WHERE IS MY REMAPS?!?!>1.!.>1.1.1.! MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE BETTER MORE MORE BETTER BETTER BETTER MORE!!!!!!!!!"

no i disagree. Broken patch week was the worst. ESP on the forums.. unless you collect tears cause OMG was there tears.

Then ccp did something stupid back in Exodus, when they gave everyone two free days of game time. So for the next 5 years, ever broken patch had people asking for free game time.

Yea.. no, i liek that i can actually play the first week of patches now

The patch bug when POS started shooting blues was absolutely hilarious. Logged into alliance comms at the time to hear loads of people screaming that they were tackled on jump bridges and full scale pants on head panicking.
