Maybe update the eve client on steam?

Maybe it would be a good idea for CCP to update the client that is available on steam, since it's about 8 patches behind, using incarna still. Especially if we get a corrupted client, and we would like to reinstall.

I thought they had the update settings on steam overridden to prevent steam detecting a client updated as broken and redownloads uselessly.

EVE updates FAR FAR FAR too fast for steam to be an effective means of keeping up. Remember it was initially designed for updating Valves line of FPS games.

For it to be done right CCP and Valve would have to make a ton of changes in their systems for very limited benefit. Most people use their steam accounts simply to activate an alt during the deals anyway.
