Is there anything that can be done about anchored, offline, high-sec POSes that seem to belong to an inactive corp aside from declaring war and shooting em down? Or is that really the only option.

Just war dec them and shoot the pos.

If they are inactive then you get the moon you want.

If they are not - you get content.

Its a win either way.

50m for war declaration plus time spent on shooting empty POS. I would say no. It is not "win either way". Concord should not protect POS, that does not pay charts. It lost the right to be there. Broken in-game mechanics, I would say.

effort in -> benefit out.

In all fairness, the POS is on a moon for a reason:

Its highly unlikely that the POS has been there since they were introduced. More likely someone saw an opening and took it to anchor something there. Requiring at least as much effort to put your own in makes sense when you remember that the game is not just you.

like Ibanez says, it's a win either way.

This is actually a really clever way to handle all these offline POS squatters all over highsec

Still what is 50M war dec cost compared to the cost of the tower, modules, and regular fuel costs. Just the price of doing business in high sec. Come out to low sec and shoot at any POS you want... no war dec required!

It costs a bit more, but you can also hire a mercenary corp to take it down.

one system had soo many offline posses all owned by the same corp.... so we payed someone to remove them for us....

but in the next few months pos's are going to become extinct so all is good.

What's the worse that can happen, you spend some money on ammo, or you gain a moon, Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained!!
