personally i use a covert ops frigate and a ishtar w/ tech 2 sentry drones for lowsec plexing.

2x medium sentry damage rigs

mid:
2 omni II's
1 cap charger
1 sensor booster - targetting range ( I fight serpentis rates normally who tracking disrupt, this effectively counters most of the time, otherwise sub for a second cap charger

low:

1x medium armor repper
3x faction active hardeners for the right damage types, to fit the CPU req's
1x cap power relay II

high
protype cloak
drone link augmentor
small railgun to pull aggro
salvager II

drones
5x small
5x med
5x medium ecm (to get away if you get jumped, but if you're a decent pilot that won't happen)
5x sentry II
and if you have HAC 5 5x ogre's

though basically i never have to use anything but the smalls and sentry's .. **** goes down fast w/ the sentries and this setup

also carry 2 codebreakers and analyzers for mag/rad sites and swap out at a near station if you have to .. use the covops to scout your ishtar (do not blind jump a faction fit ishtar for gods sake please) and find a nice quiet part of lowsec to base out of

been making a **** ton of isk with this setup..

I use a pair of Legions for 'plex-running out of our Class 2 highsec static when I've nothing else to do.

Scanner alt flies a cloaky expanded prober with warfare sub, T2 armour links and code breakers plus salvager for the faction wrecks.
DPS alt follows with 600dps, twin TC's and a good boosted omnitank so the pair can run any rat type site.

Scanner nails site and warps squad, sits at gate with links running.

In my experience this is an ideal setup and is quicker than using a solo all-rounder, which is what I used to do.

In low/null you'd use 2 dps or a tank & heavy dps ofc:)

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Thanks a lot for sharing the great advice.

Using two Legions sounds like the top-end solution similar to double tengu Cool. This will take some more time.

I probs need to consider to train up my new alt into covops and scanning rather than dps following all your feedback. Sam, my main, can here more easily optimize the Ishtar for dps skill-wise (sentry V) by droping the scanner role.

Hhhmmm, I just like to use deepspace probes, and Astronomy V and other scanning skills for the alt will take time, too.

Thx again, mates

I know this thread has probably gone on a bit longer than intended, but thought I'd add one thing that really helps me earn more ISKies :)

Buy a load of salvaging destroyers, leave them scattered around the low sec near you. If you find a decent c3 with loads of anoms, mags, radars etc. then run it.

Warp in the cov ops, make sure it's empty, make a safe. Swap cov ops for salvager. Use the T3 you're training for to clear it, and just have the alt sitting in the destroyer warp to your main as he finishes each site. Very good ISK/hour, and I find quite a few decent C3s when I'm hunting for the rated complexes.

Although I don't run the WHs very much during peak times, and I'm paranoid with directional. Just remember to get the hell out if you see anything on scan, salvaging that last site isn't worth losing a T3 over :D

I also use a t3 as a salvager/hacker/codebreaker nowadays, but I used to use a destroyer and there isn't much difference. It's easier to scan out multiple systems at once with two T3s though, and it's nice not swapping ships, so it's definitely something I'd advise aiming for.

What a great idea. I never would have considered running some wh's at the same time.

Cheers and Merry Christmas (e.g. Happy Seasons Greetings) to all.

I do mostly low sec exploration using two screens. I fly a Tengu that can solo damn near anything and my alt typically flies a buzzard. I run the sites in the Tengu and have my alt sit at the gate cloaked so i can see if someone is warping in on me. Two screens really makes it golden.
