Another Appeal for Ice in WH

Greetings All,

I would like to make another appeal for ice roids in WH space. Ice roids in wh are a botters paradise. Ice should be brought into a grav site like any other roid in WH or null sec space. This has been discussed before so I am just sharing my support for it.

ICE roids in WH wouldnt be a botters dream, no local there, They would always get popped.

I was going to say yea, ice would be nice to have access to in holes, and it would likely result in mack kills as well.

Bots... bots would suffer greatly if anyone actually tried to being them in holes. Like mentioned, no local for them to use as an alarm bell.

Six months in the hole... it changes a man.

Exactly, you could put one Ice field for each race in belt in HS, then more in low. Grave sites would spawn ice for null and WH. Get rid of a ton of botters.

Why should they do that?

W-space is still part of Eve, it shouldn't be self contained.

CCP will never give us ice. Nor do I think it's necessary. However, it would be nice to have rare and random spawns of it accessible to higher level w-space that doesn't have easy access to k-space. When I say rare I mean the timing of such spawns can neither be gauged or relied upon.

I think introducing ICE to WH space would severely off balance the risk vs reward for players. Not even thinking about bots here. We already make **** loads of money in wormholes. Adding ICE would just make us make more. We would be able to be 100% self sufficient inside a wormhole. No need to leave since you can make and harvest all your POS fuels in the WH. You can build ships, modules and ammo...

If anybody has any ideas that would counteract this I would be all for it.

Well... one quick thought... if ice showed up at a specific "belt" or something that you could detect much like detecting an asteroid belt in empire, that adds inherent danger in having something a covops could warp to sight-unseen. In addition if wormhole ice produced all four isotopes, but at 20 - 25% of the yield of empire ice (would take four to five times as much for the same yield of a particular isotope) it would require longer periods of ice mining, adding to the risk. Then there would still be the need to either cart out the unwanted isotopes or have that isk go to waste.

W-space will never be completely isolated from empire. Hell, we need them to sell our stuff to. All it would really do is reduce the crap we have to bring into holes.
