Why there must be bad ships?

Why there are ships that even with all skills at level five, you can't fit them. Too few CPU or too few PG. Or not enough slots.

Now we have tons of ships that are really rarely used, since they are useless. I would love to see lot's of different ships around. In the end it's only the personal skills that matter. But it seriously sucks that if even with the best possible skills there is ship that can't be fitted in usefull way.

T1, faction and T2 ships can be set into different levels with bonuses. I think they should get rid of tiers completely, and fixed slots.

They should give you bonuses for ship, and maximum slot number. Then you would place your slots, as you see it best for your use. Leave rigs as they are now.

For example if I could move slots in Abaddon, I could have fit with less lowslots used and more med slots for double web, point, mwd and cap booster. You get the picture?

It's a shame to have any bad ships in game, they all are really nice looking ships and they deserve to be usefull!

Fitting problems exist for non-Winmatar so that Winmatar can win.Cool

But then where would the differences be between ships if you could do this...? I think this would throw any semblance of balance out of the window :P

I always thought there should be a mod that converts a slot into a lower slot, like high -> med or med -> low, and a mod that goes the other way but reduces your cap regen a bit (that extra power has to come from somewhere). Maybe make it so that you can only have 1 per ship so as not to allow for anything crazy. Probably have to restrict it from allowing more than 8 slots of a type too, but I think it could still be very useful. We've all probably wished for just one more slot at one time or another.

It's like the highly intelligent complaining about all the average and below average people of the world.

Forgetting all the time that, if those below average people didn't exist, they themselves would no longer be considered highly intelligent.

Instead. Simply average.

If everyone else actually were intelligent, I wouldn't mind being average Cool Imagine what humanity could achieve if everyone were given a good education and a good job?

Similarly in EVE, I'd love it if most ships actually got used. If they just reworked some of the frigates and cruisers that never get used they could effectively add many new ships to the game (or more correctly back to the game), without having to develop new graphics, blueprints, etc.

It would be awesome if it were possible but can it really be done? I don't think so...

All you just suggested is having "Generic Frig 1 Generic Cruiser 1, Generic Battleship 1" the bonuses between the ships aren't huge, especially if you can choose slots to make up the short comings. Current system is fine if anything just remove the tier system and away we go.

I lied :o
