Question about signatures and anomolies.

So, I've done google searches and searched the forums here, but can't seem to find a solid answer to this.

What determines how many signatures and anomalies are in a system? So far, after spending about 5-6 weeks in a wormhole I've noticed a gradual fluctuation in how many of each we get. When we first showed up there was anywhere from 8-10 of each, per day at any given time. Slowly the number has gone down to about 4-5 of each a time. What's up with this? Is there some sort of cycle?

its complicated but what i know to be true is that wormhole systems are in constellations just like k space. and all of the systems in the constellation share anoms. so when you run a combat anom in your home system and it goes away, it reappears in another system among the same constellation.

so if you were SUPER ELITE. in theory you can have alts procing anoms in all the systems of your constellation increasing the chance they spawn in your home system. that is some carebearing on a whole other level.

a lot of people are really annoyed with shattered wormholes atm because they suck up a lot of sites because they arent run as often as a regular wormhole. so they just pile up. so if its possible for a shattered to be in your constellation it is sucking up sites that arent getting respawned. maybe someone can give more insight on this, to my understanding wormholes are in constellations of the same class so shattered wormholes... idk.

For one, there is a lot of RNG involved.

I'm not aware that a sig distribution theory has been confirmed, but amongst the assumptions, the one talking of a pool of anoms/sigs distributed over an area seems the most plausible. So assuming sigs/anoms would have a chance to spawn in your hole if someone else clears them in his hole. With hundreds of each in a class, influencing this is rather futile.

Overall, days without anything popping up are about as common as *sig-explosions* with 4 new ones appearing over an hour.

tl;dr - It's almost completely random. More activity in your constellation might make respawns faster, but Bob's will be done.

This is why the static is so important. Home site respawn in WH space is a fickle mistress.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

The only strange thing to me is that for about 3 weeks we had a lot of sigs/anomolies and for the last 2 weeks or so we've had few and these changes have been consistent over time. Does anyone else experience this?

sounds like w space to me. unpredictable, random and beyond your control. working as intended.

Yes this happens. It might be part of a larger scheme of bob or just a manifestation of ~completely random~. Either way, I would recommend you not lose any sleep over this. Eventually there will be enough ISK floating in your system Big smile

Yea, I'm not too worried about it. The consistency just happened to raise my spidey senses. What? Wormhole, consistant.. is trap? Roll

In the meantime I'll just roam null xD

I always assume a drop-off like this means that the people in the other wh's in my constellation or region have stopped running their sigs for whatever reason, but who knows.

I think a big C6 corp once did an experiment of seeding all c6 holes with alts to warp to all the sigs and force respawns 4 days later. I don't know the outcome.

Overall, this kind of randomness just happens. Get used to farming sites in your statics, and you can always roll the static for more sites.

Well, that makes sense xD I never thought of rolling the static for that reason. I'm new to the game, I trained skills for 3 months last year and got too busy to play and have been back for a month or so. Thanks!
