fly a bhaalgorn, problem solved

The amarr navy is considered high tech because of the lasers, but by lore it is an aging navy as it is a nation that got complacent with its forces since only 2 things have every bested them in the military

1. being the Jove when the amarr rose up against them.
2. they matari fleets of the Thukker Tribe until the Empress decimated an entire fleet with 1 shot from her super weapon.

A weapon they do not posses anymore, while the thukkers still have that nasty tech of naglfars that can jump into cyno jammed systems, including yulai (that makes them a hellish powerful force)

Too many cyan lites and t2 lasers look similar to t1. Sad

I agree. When they updated guns they flipped the color scheme of the lights around between T1 and T2 lasers. It's kind of annoying, as the other weapons were left the same.

i really don't understand this "my spaceship must be symmetrical" thing, amarr ships are some of the best looking ships atm they don't really need a redesign especially if it`s for the worse like they did on the apoc.
if you follow the logic on a armor tanking ship you want less complicated bits (confessor) and stuff on the outside because they just gonna get blowed up on the first hit, sturdy plates (geddon, prophecy, punisher, etc) make much more sense.

Apoc was vastly improved and its only issue is its just too large. Should be scaled 10 percent down. New skins are badly needed for many ships. Amarr ships just being some.

Some of the Amarr ships look very dated and ugly. Seeing the great work that has been done to ships such as the maller, here are my picks for renovation

Omen and it's variants such as the Zealot
-More renovated, weight-balanced, and symmetrical look, with inspiration from the confessor. Not in shape, but sophistication.

The harbinger
-This ship looks like it was meant to be a fighter, with the wings etc. It is very thin, and the centralized engines in the back look disproportional to the front. It doesn't look like a battle-cruiser.

The tormentor
-This one looks very dated.

Armageddon
-Renovations similar to those done to the Raven and Scorpion. The ship is iconic, it just needs some visual love.

Abaddon
-Renovations in the same light as above.

Perhaps also the executioner and slicer. Less round, primitive shapes, more of the detail that the maller or moa has recieved.

My 2 isk.

You leave my Slicer well alone matey.

Protect me from knowing what I don't need to know. Protect me from even knowing that there are things to know that I don't know. Protect me from knowing that I decided not to know about the things that I decided not to know about. Amen.

Whats wrong with these ships? I loved all the old ships. Incursus is take it or leave it, but Exequror and tristan were amazing in their old models. So was Moa. I loved the old maller, and if you will notice, the confessor shares similarities to all these new ship models being crapped out by CCP: they have these long spindly pylon things sticking out and paddles, and/or they look like frisbees (blackbird, orthrus).

The old ship designs all had racially based architecture, from smooth and streamlined (amarr) , to lumpy/curvy and asymmetrical (gallente), to blocky and utilitarian (caldari), and finally spindly, pylons, narrow yet rectangular (minmatar).

They've started flushing all the uniqueness of ship designs into some homogenized half-assed copypasta models. Maybe they're not paying their art department enough. Maybe they fired the old team. Maybe a higher up is pushing for bad ship models.

Do those models look good? Sure. Do they take away from the flavor of EvE? Definitely. They look like free domain spaceship artwork you can find anywhere on the web instead of being the old models that were definitely inspired designs.

Simple minds like simple designs. Asymmetry is not simple.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

The camo thing always bugged me...

Camo thing never bugged me as it seemed more like organizational recognition rather than trying to be functional. For instance green camo is a Fed Navy thing, not a hiding in space thing.

To me, a lot of ships are ugly, few are nice, many grow on you.

I think all ships should be left the way they are. They are creative and each have their own looks to each their owners.
If you don't like how a ship looks, deal with it or just don't fly it so you don't have to look at it.

it's not about the value you gain, but the value they lose.

Unfortunately for your philosophy some game companies like to have A a cohesive aesthetic and B modern graphical quality. This means old things need to be updated so they dont stick out when compared next to new things.

...Simple minds like simple designs. Asymmetry is not simple.

Exequeror - Apparently wings jutting off in random directions was a clever and sophisticated design.

Tristan - Didn't even change much, became no more symmetrical than it was

Moa - Now you are just being silly. It didn't even fit the Caldari motif of utilitarian design. Limp neck and weak wings connecting important looking parts of the ship aren't typically know for their enhancement to function.

Also the racial distinction is still extremely strong IMHO. Amarr has ornate plated armor in a way no other race has. Caldari actually looks more utilitarian rather than simply not caring about exterior design. Gallente is just old Gallente cleaned up abit for the most part, though I'm on the fence about some of the details on the Exequror. If anything Minmatar has changed the most with ships like the Stabber departing from the look of having the minimal viable construction holding it together, so I suppose we can grant that.

Why is that a bad thing? Stick out because you had good ideas and the game succeeded to this day based on those ideas. Why flush em to "look like everyone else"?

Also, the tristan lost its elegance and became fugly with those side bulges that were added to it, and the loss of the smaller side wing.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

There is in no way such a thing as 'looking like everything else' when it comes to any ship in this game. Don't be absurd.

I will unsub if you make my Omen Navy and Omen Khador less sexy. I swear I will. however, release a Blood Raider omen? Yes. Then I will spend more money on this game. Also Sarum Punisher... murr.

You leave my Slicer alone! She's perfect just the way she is.

Most of the other ships you listed are fine as far as I'm concerned. Omen, Tormentor (Battle-shrimp!), Executioner are all great looking ships.
